549 - Abd al-Rahman ibn Uthman narrated to us, saying: Qasim narrated to us, saying: Ibn Abi Khaythamah narrated to us, saying: Muslim ibn Ibrahim narrated to us, saying: Al-Qasim ibn al-Fadl narrated to me, saying: Ibn Umayr al-Hijri narrated to me from Abu al-Sidq, who said: Abu Sa'id al-Khudri said while sitting at the foot of the Prophet's (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) pulpit, and he had a sense of longing: "I asked, 'What is making you weep?' He replied, 'I remembered the Prophet (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) and his place on this pulpit.' He then said, 'Indeed, from my Ahl al-Bayt, there will come one who is lean and bald-headed, arriving on earth at a time when it is filled with injustice and oppression, and he will fill it with equity and justice.'" He will live like this, and he gestured with his hand for seven or nine.

553 - Hamzah ibn Ali narrated to us, saying: Abdullah ibn Muhammad narrated to us, saying: Ali ibn al-Husayn al-Juhani narrated to us in Damascus, saying: Hisham ibn Ammar narrated to us, saying: Isma'il ibn Ayash narrated to us, saying: Ata ibn Ajlan narrated to us from Abu Nadrah from Abu Sa'id al-Khudri, who said: The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) said, "In the last times, a man from my family will rise, a young man with a handsome face, a clear forehead, and a hooked nose. He will fill the earth with justice and fairness, just as it has been filled with injustice and oppression," and he will rule for seven years, such and such.

554 - Solomon ibn Dawud narrated to us, saying: Muhammad ibn Abdullah narrated to us, saying: Muhammad ibn Ahmed ibn al-Haytham al-Duri narrated to us, from my father, who said: Surah ibn al-Hakam narrated to us, from Sulayman ibn Qarm and Yahya ibn Tha'alabah and Hammad ibn Salamah and Qays and Abu Bakr ibn Ayash, all narrating from Asim, from Zur, from Abdullah who said: The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) said, "The Hour will not be established until a man from my family ascends to power, whose name is my name and the name of his father is the name of my father. He will fill the earth with justice and fairness, just as it has been filled with oppression and injustice."

558 - Ibn Iffan narrated to us, saying: Qasim narrated to us, saying: Ahmad narrated to us, saying: Muhammad ibn Sa'id al-Asbahani narrated to us, telling us that Sharik narrated to him from Furat al-Qazzaz from Abu Ma'bad, who said: I asked him, "Did you hear Ibn Abbas mention something about the Mahdi?" He replied: "Yes, I heard him say, 'By Allah, if there were only one day left in the world, Allah would surely complete this matter with us, just as He began it.' And he said, 'This matter was opened with us and will be completed with us.'"

564 - Abd al-Rahman ibn Uthman narrated to us, saying: Ahmad narrated to us, saying: Sa'id narrated to us, saying: Nasr narrated to us, saying: Ali narrated to us, saying: Ubayd Allah ibn Amr narrated to us, from Ma'mar, from Abu Harun al-Abdi from Abu Sa'id al-Khudri, who said: The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) said: "People will face a severe trial until no man finds a refuge, then Allah will send a man from the lineage of the people of my House who will fill the earth with justice and fairness as it has been filled with oppression and injustice," He will be loved by the inhabitants of heaven and the inhabitants of earth, the heavens will send down their rain, and the earth will bring forth its vegetation, holding back nothing. He will live in that time for nine years.

I said, "O Abu Abd al-Rahman, what does 'matching' mean?" He said, "It resembles."

His name will coincide with my name."

Allah will perfect him in a single night."
