- .... And by the One who split the seed and created the soul, if only one day remained of this world, Allah would prolong that day until a man from us would rule in it. So if you see that day and do not throw a stone, do not shoot an arrow, or do not stab with a spear, thank Allah, for the outcome is for the righteous. And if you see anyone from the Banu Umayyah drowning in the sea, then tread on his head. By the One who split the seed and created the soul, if there were only one man left from the Banu Umayyah, he would oppress for the religion of Allah.

- .... And from Hudhayfa: that the Prophet (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) said: "The Mahdi is from my descendants, his face shining like a luminous star."
- .... And it has been narrated from Abu Sa'id al-Khudri, Abd al-Rahman ibn Awf, and others that he is from my lineage (peace be upon him and his holy progeny).
- .... Mention of what has been narrated specifically regarding Hussein from Hudhayfa: that the Prophet (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) said: "If there were only one day left in the world, Allah would prolong that day until He sends a man from my descendants, named like my name." Salman asked, "From which of your descendants, O Messenger of Allah?" He replied, "From this lineage," and he gestured with his hand on Hussein. Thus, what was mentioned earlier in an unrestricted manner can be understood as being confined to this specific instance.

- .... As for Al-Tirmidhi, he and Abu Dawood both transmitted, through their chains, to Ibn Abbas from the direction of Asim ibn Abi al-Najud, one of the seven reciters, to Zur ibn Hubaysh from Abdullah ibn Mas'ud from the Prophet (peace be upon him and his holy progeny): "If there were only one day left in the world, Allah would prolong that day until He sends a man from me or my family, whose name matches my name" and whose father's name is the name of my father.
- .... This is the wording of Abu Dawood, and he did not comment on it but said in his famous message: That which he did not comment on in his book is sound. And the wording of Al-Tirmidhi is: "The world will not pass away until an Arab man from my family rules" whose name matches my name, and in another wording: "until a man from my family takes a position of authority," and both are good and authentic hadiths.
