15044 - On the authority of Rija' ibn Rabbi'a who said: I was sitting in Madinah in the Mosque of the Messenger (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) in a circle that included Abu Sa'id and Abdullah ibn Amr when Al-Hasan ibn Ali passed by and greeted us. The people responded to his greeting, and Abdullah ibn Amr remained silent, then followed it up by saying: And peace be upon you, and the mercy of Allah. He then said: This is the most beloved of the people of the earth to the people of heaven. By Allah, I have not spoken to him since the nights of the Battle of Siffin. Abu Sa'id then said: Will you not go to him and apologize to him? He replied: Yes, and stood up. Abu Sa'id entered, sought permission, and was granted it. Then he sought permission for Abdullah ibn Amr, and he too was granted entry. Abu Sa'id said to Abdullah ibn Amr: Tell us what you told us about Al-Hasan when he passed by. He said: Yes, I will inform you: He is the most beloved of the people of the earth to the people of heaven. Al-Hasan then said to him, "Since you know that I am the most beloved of the people of the earth to the people of heaven, why did you fight us, or act aggressively on the day of Siffin?" He replied: I swear, I did not act aggressively with my numbers nor did I fight with them using a sword, but I was present with my father, or a word to that effect. He said: Did you not know that there is no obedience to a created being in disobedience to Allah? He replied: Yes, but I was accustomed to fasting continuously during the time of the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny), and my father complained about me to the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny), and he said: O Messenger of Allah, Abdullah ibn Amr fasts during the day and stands in prayer at night. The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) said: Fast and break your fast, pray and sleep, for I, too, pray and sleep, fast and break my fast. He said to me: O Abdullah, obey your father. So I went out on the day of Siffin and accompanied him. Narrated by al-Bazzar, and its narrators are the narrators of al-Sahih, except for Hashim ibn al-Barid, who is trustworthy. I say: There will also be another narration regarding him in the virtues of al-Husayn.

15071 - And from Abu Huraira as well, that Marwan came to him in his illness in which he died and said to Abu Huraira: "I have not found anything against you since we became companions except in your love for Hasan and Husayn." Abu Huraira then prepared himself and sat up, saying: "I bear witness that we went out with the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) until when we were in part of the way, the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) heard Hasan and Husayn crying, and they were with their mother. So he hurried his pace until he reached them and I heard him say: 'What is the matter with my sons?' She said: 'Thirst.' He said: 'The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) will go to a container to seek water in.' And that day, water was in puddles, and people were trying to find it. He called out: 'Is there anyone among you with water?'" None remained except that each one gestured with their hand to him, seeking water in a container, but none of them found a drop. Then the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) said: "Give me one of them." He took one from her under the covering, and I saw the whiteness of her arms when she handed it to him. He took it and hugged it to his chest while it cooed, not quieting. Then he stuck out its tongue and began to suck on it until it calmed or was still. I did not hear it crying, while the other one cried as it was, not quieting. Then he said: "Give me the other one." So she handed it to him, and he did the same with it, and they both became quiet. I did not hear any sounds from them. Then he said: "Move on." We then parted to the right and left from the tents until we met him at the roadside. "So can I not love these two, having seen this from the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny)?" This was narrated by al-Tabarani, and its narrators are trustworthy.
