He said: And what is it? She replied: It is very severe. He said: And what is it? She said: I saw a piece of your body cut off and placed in my lap. The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) said: You have seen good. Fatimah will, with Allah's permission, give birth to a boy who will be in your lap. Fatimah then gave birth to Husayn, and he was in my lap, as the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) had said. I entered one day upon the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) and placed him in his lap, then I happened to glance, and I saw the eyes of the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) overflowing with tears. She said, so I said: O Prophet of Allah, may my father and mother be sacrificed for you, what ails you? He said: Gabriel (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) came to me and informed me that my ummah will kill my son. I said: Is this what you meant? He said: Yes, and he brought me a handful of his red soil. This is a sound hadith according to the criteria of the two Sheikhs, and they did not include it in their collections.

He lay down again and dozed off, then woke up again, still in a state of confusion, although not as bewildered as he had been the first time. He lay down once more, then woke up, holding in his hand red soil, which he was kissing. I said, "What is this soil, O Messenger of Allah?" He said: Gabriel (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) informed me that this (Hussein) would be killed in the land of Iraq. So I said to Gabriel, 'Show me the soil of the earth where he will be killed,' and this is its soil. This is a sound hadith according to the criteria of the Two Shaykhs, and they did not narrate it.
