He jumped on the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny), who was bent over, and played on his back. Then Gabriel said to the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny): "Do you love him, O Muhammad?" He replied: "O Gabriel, how could I not love someone who is beloved?" Gabriel continued: "Then your ummah will kill him after you." Gabriel (peace be upon him) then extended his hand and brought him a small white soil, saying: "In this land, your son will be killed, O Muhammad. Its name is Al-Tuf." When Gabriel (peace be upon him) departed from the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny), the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) came out, holding the soil in his hand, and weeping. He said: "O Aisha, Gabriel (peace be upon him) informed me that Al-Husayn (may Allah be pleased with him) is a beloved one, killed in the land of Al-Tuf, and my ummah will be tempted after me." He then went out to his companions, among them Ali, Abu Bakr, Umar, Hudhayfah, Ammar, and Abu Dharr (may Allah be pleased with them), while he was weeping. They said: "What makes you weep, O Messenger of Allah?" He replied: "Gabriel informed me that the beloved Al-Husayn will be killed after me in the land of Al-Tuf and brought me this soil, telling me that it contains his resting place."

So obey me as long as I am among you. When I am taken away, then you must hold onto the Book of Allah, the Almighty and Exalted. Declare lawful what it declares lawful and declare unlawful what it declares unlawful." The Holy Spirit and ease will come to you, a Book from Allah, a preordained decree. You will face trials like pieces of dark night; whenever one group departs, another group will come. Prophethood will be succeeded and will become kingship. May Allah have mercy on the one who takes it with its due right and leaves it as he entered it." Then he said to Mu'adh, "Hold on and count." When it reached five, he said, "Yazid, may Allah not bless Yazid." Then his eyes (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) filled with tears. Then he said: "It has been foretold to me about Husayn, and I have been shown his soil, and I have been informed of his killer." By the One in whose hand is my soul, he will not be killed among a people who do not defend him except that Allah will cause enmity to arise between their hearts and minds, and He will unleash the worst of them upon them, dress them in factions." Then he said: "Woe to the offspring of the family of Muhammad (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) from a lavish, appointed successor who will kill in my presence and that of my successors." Hold on, O Mu'adh. When it reached ten, Al-Walid said: "The name of Pharaoh, the demolisher of the laws of Islam, is a man from the Prophet's family before him. Allah will draw His sword against him, and there will be no sheathing for it." People will differ, and they will be like this," and he interlaced his fingers. Then he said: "After twenty-one hundred swift deaths and horrific killings, there will be their destruction, and a man from the descendants of Al-Abbas will rule over them."

He said it was on the day of Umm Salamah, and Jibril (peace be upon him) descended and entered the room where the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) was. He said to Umm Salamah, "Do not let anyone enter upon me." Then al-Husayn (may Allah be pleased with him) came, and when he saw the Prophet (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) in the house, he wanted to enter, but Umm Salamah took hold of him and embraced him, making soothing sounds to him. When he شدت. him, she released him, and he entered until he sat in the lap of the Prophet (peace be upon him and his holy progeny). Then Jibril (peace be upon him) said, "Your community will kill this son of yours." The Prophet (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) said, "They will kill him while being believers in me." Jibril replied, "Yes, they will kill him." Jibril then took some soil and said, "In a place like this and this." Then the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) emerged, holding Husayn, with a troubled expression and in deep concern. Umm Salamah thought he was angry at the child entering, so she said, "O Prophet of Allah, may I be sacrificed for you! You told us not to weep for this boy and instructed me not to let anyone enter upon you. He came, and I let him go, but you did not respond to me." He did not reply to her and went out to his companions, who were seated and said to them, "Indeed, my community will kill this one." Among them were Abu Bakr and Umar (may Allah be pleased with them), and they were the boldest of the people towards him. They said, "O Prophet of Allah, will they kill him while being believers?" He replied, "Yes, and this is his soil," showing it to them.

I said, 'May my father and mother be sacrificed for you, O Messenger of Allah! What is this?' He said, 'This is the blood of Hussein and his companions. I have been continuously collecting it since today.'" They counted it, and found that killings occurred that day.

56 - Al-Hasan ibn al-Abbas al-Razi narrated to us, saying: Sulaim ibn Mansur ibn Ammar narrated to us, from my father, and Ahmadi ibn Yahya ibn Khalid ibn Hibban al-Ruqyi narrated to us, saying: Amr ibn Bakir ibn Bakkar al-Qan'ubi narrated to us, from Mujashii ibn Amr, who both said: Ibn Luheiya narrated to us, from Abi Qubail, who told me that Abdullah ibn Amr ibn al-As said that Mu'adh ibn Jabal informed him, saying: The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) appeared before us with a changed complexion and said: "I am Muhammad, who has been given the beginnings and endings of speech. So obey me as long as I am among you. And when I am taken away, you must rely on the Book of Allah. Consider as lawful its lawful things and its unlawful things as unlawful." The موتة (mawtah, a type of divine trial) will come to you, coming with spirit and ease, a Book from Allah that has been decreed. It will come to you with trials like dark, shadowy pieces of night. Whenever a messenger departs, another will come. Prophethood will be passed down until it becomes monarchy. May Allah have mercy on the one who takes it with its due rights and exits from it as they entered it." He continued, "Hold on, O Mu'adh, and count." He said: When he reached five, he added: "May Allah not bless Yazid." Then his eyes filled with tears, and he said: "It has been announced to me the demise of Hussein, and I have been shown his martyrdom and informed of his killer," and he added, "By the One in whose hand is my soul, he will not be killed among a people who do not defend him except that Allah will cause conflict between their hearts and souls, and He will unleash the worst of them upon them, dress them in factions." Then he said: "Woe to the offspring of the family of Muhammad from a successor, appointed, indulged, who will kill in my presence and the presence of my successors." He continued, "Hold on, O Mu'adh." When he reached ten, he said: "Al-Walid is the name of Pharaoh, the destroyer of the laws of Islam, before whom is a man from his household, who will not sheath or return the sword of Allah." The people will differ, and they will be like this - and he interlocked his fingers - then he said: "After twenty and one hundred, there will be swift deaths and terrible killings, and in it will be their destruction. Woe to them from a man who will rule over them, one of the children of Abbas." Their words were the same.

So I waited, and al-Husayn entered. I heard the sound of the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) crying. I looked out, and saw al-Husayn in his lap or beside him, stroking his head and crying. I said: "By Allah, I did not know when he entered." Then the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) said: "Gabriel was in the house." I asked, "Do you love him?" He replied, "In this world, yes." He continued, "Your ummah will kill him in a land called Karbala." Then Gabriel took some of the soil from it and showed it to the Prophet (peace be upon him and his holy progeny). When al-Husayn was surrounded and killed, he said: "What is the name of this land?" They said: "Karbala." He said: "The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) spoke the truth. It is the land of sorrow and trial."

141 - Ali ibn Abd al-Aziz narrated to us, saying: Abu Na'im narrated to us, saying: Abd al-Salam ibn Harb narrated to us, from Layth, from Abu al-Qasim, the freed slave of Zaynab, from Zaynab bint Jahsh, that the Prophet (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) was sleeping beside her while Hussain was crawling in the house. She became distracted and he crawled until he reached the Prophet (peace be upon him and his holy progeny), climbed onto his stomach, and then placed his private parts in his navel. She said: The Prophet (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) woke up, and I went to him and lifted Hussain off his stomach. The Prophet (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) said: "Leave my son." When he finished urinating, he took a jug of water and poured it over him, then said: "It is poured over the boy and washed off the girl." She said: He performed ablution and then stood to pray, holding Hussain. He would place him when he bowed and prostrated, and carry him when he stood. When he sat, he would start to pray, raising his hands and saying: "O Allah, my son!" When he finished the prayer, I said: "O Messenger of Allah, today I saw you doing something I have not seen you do before." He said: "Gabriel came to me and informed me that my son will be killed." I said: "Show me then," and he brought me a red clayey soil."
