37367 - Muhammad bin Ubayd narrated to us, saying: Sharhabil bin Mudrik al-Ju'fi narrated to me from Abdullah bin Yahya al-Hadrami, from his father, that he traveled with Ali, who was his companion in purification, until they reached the vicinity of Nineveh while he was on his way to Siffin. He called out: "Be patient, O Abu Abdullah! Be patient, O Abu Abdullah!" I said, "What is it, O Abu Abdullah?" He replied: "I entered upon the Prophet (peace be upon him and his holy progeny), and his eyes were overflowing with tears." I said, "O Messenger of Allah, why are your eyes overflowing with tears? Has someone made you angry?"
He said: "Gabriel stood up from beside me and informed me that Hussein will be killed at the banks of the Euphrates, and I could not help but have my eyes overflow."
