363 - Abu Khaythamah narrated to us, saying: Muhammad ibn Ubayd narrated to us, saying: Sharhabil ibn Mudrik narrated to us, from Abdullah ibn Najji, from his father, that he traveled with Ali, who was the custodian of his purification, and when he passed by Nineveh while on his way to Siffin, Ali called out: "Be patient, Abu Abdullah! Be patient, Abu Abdullah!" He said, "What is it, Abu Abdullah?" Ali replied: "I entered upon the Prophet (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) one day, and his eyes were overflowing with tears." I said, "O Prophet of Allah, has someone made you angry? What is the matter with your eyes overflowing?" He said: "No, rather Gabriel rose from beside me before and informed me that Hussein will be killed by the bank of the Euphrates." He then said, "Would you like me to let you smell his soil?" I said, "Yes." So he extended his hand, took a handful of soil, and gave it to me, and I could not help but have my eyes overflow with tears."

3402 - Shayban narrated to us, saying: 'Imarah ibn Zadhan narrated to us, saying: Thabit al-Bunani narrated to us from Anas ibn Malik, who said: The angel of the rain asked his Lord for permission to visit the Prophet (peace be upon him and his holy progeny), and He granted him permission. It was on the day of Umm Salamah. The Prophet (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) said, "O Umm Salamah, keep the door closed; do not let anyone enter upon us." So, while she was at the door, Al-Husayn ibn Ali came and pushed his way in. He opened the door and entered. The Prophet (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) began to embrace him and kiss him. The angel said, "Do you love him?" He replied, "Yes." The angel said, "Your community will kill him. If you wish, I can show you the place where they will kill him." He answered, "Yes." Then, the angel took a handful of soil from the place where he would be killed and showed it to him. It was either dust or red soil. Umm Salamah took it and placed it in her cloth." Thabit said: We used to say that it was Karbala.
