Volume: (11) - Page Number: (75/76)
-
It has been related by more than one that the people of Karbala continue to hear the weeping of the jinn for Husayn (peace be upon him), and they say:The Messenger wiped his forehead,
So he has a glimmer on his cheeks.
His parents are in the heights of Quraysh,
And his grandfather is the best of grandfathers.
Some people have answered them, saying:They brought him out as a delegation to him,
And they are the worst of delegations for him.
They killed the son of the daughter of their Prophet;
They will dwell with him in the Abode of Eternity.
Some added that the women of the jinn weep and say:O you who unjustly kill Husayn,
Rejoice in torment and retribution!
All the inhabitants of heaven curse you,
As do a sent Prophet and a people.
You have been cursed on the tongues of Dawud
and Musa and the bearer of the Gospel.
- .... Al-Tabarani narrated through Habib ibn Abi Thabit
from Umm Salamah (peace be upon her) who said: "I did not hear the weeping of the jinn since the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) was taken up except for this night, and I do not see my son except that he has been killed," meaning Husayn. She said to her maid: "Go out and ask," and she was informed that he had been killed. Then she saw a jinniyyah weeping:O eye, mourn my effort;
And who will weep for the martyrs after me?
Over a group whom death leads,
To one who is obstinate in the dominion of my Servant.
- .... Abu Nu'aym narrated
from Buraydah ibn Jabir al-Hadrari, from his mother who said: "I heard the jinn weeping over Husayn, saying:" I mourn Husayn, lost and gone;
Husayn was a mountain.
