- My aunt, Umm Salim, narrated to me
that she said: When Al-Husayn ibn Ali was killed, we were showered with rain like blood on the houses and walls.- He said: And it was conveyed to me that this was happening in Khurasan, Sham, and Kufa. Al-Baghawi said, Ahmad ibn Muhammad ibn Yahya ibn Sa'id narrated to us, saying: Zayd ibn al-Habbab narrated to us, and Abu Ghalib said: Abu Yahya Mahdi ibn Maymun narrated to me, saying: I heard Marwan, a client of Hind bint al-Muhallab, say
that Abu Ghalib said: a doorkeeper of Ubayd Allah ibn Ziyad told me that when the head of Al-Husayn was brought and placed before him, I saw the walls of the governor's house oozing blood.- Abu Abdullah Muhammad ibn al-Fadl narrated to us, saying: Ahmad ibn al-Husayn narrated to me, and Abu Muhammad al-Sulami narrated to us, saying: Abu Bakr al-Khatib narrated to us, and Abu al-Qasim Isma'il ibn Ahmad narrated to us, saying: Muhammad ibn Hibatullah narrated to us, and Muhammad ibn al-Husayn narrated to us, saying: Abdullah ibn Ja'far narrated to us, saying: Ya'qub narrated to me, from Ayub ibn Muhammad al-Raqi, from Salam ibn Sulayman al-Thaqafi
that Zayd ibn Amr al-Kindi said: Um Hayyan narrated to me, saying: On the day Al-Husayn was killed, it became dark for us for three days, and no one touched any of their saffron and put it on their face except that it burned, and no stone was turned in Jerusalem except that it was found to be under it fresh blood.- He said: And Ya'qub narrated to us, saying: Sulayman ibn Harb narrated to us, from Hammad ibn Zayd
from Ma'mar, who said: The first time al-Zuhri was recognized was when he spoke in the council of al-Walid ibn Abd al-Malik. Al-Walid said, "Which of you knows what the stones of the Temple did on the day Al-Husayn ibn Ali was killed?" Al-Zuhri replied, and Abd al-Karim and ibn al-Samarqandi both said: It was conveyed to me, and they said: No stone was turned except that ibn al-Samarqandi added, and it was found underneath, and al-Bayhaqi said: Except that underneath it was fresh blood.
- Abu Bakr al-Shahid narrated to us that Hasan ibn Ali al-Jahdari narrated to him, saying: Abu Umar al-Khazzaz narrated to me, and Abu al-Hasan al-Khashab ibn al-Fahm narrated to me, saying: Muhammad ibn Sa'd narrated to me, and Muhammad ibn Umar
narrated to me that Umar ibn Muhammad ibn Umar ibn Ali, from his father, said: Abd al-Malik sent for ibn Ras al-Jalut and said: "Was there any sign in the killing of Al-Husayn?" Ibn Ras al-Jalut replied: "On that day, no stone was uncovered except that fresh blood was found beneath it."- Abu Bakr Wajih ibn Tahir narrated to us, saying: Abu Salih Ahmad ibn Abd al-Malik narrated to me, and Ali ibn Muhammad ibn Ali and Abd al-Rahman ibn Muhammad ibn Ahmad both said, quoting Abu al-Abbas Muhammad ibn Yaqub, who said: I heard Abbas ibn Muhammad say: I heard Yahya say, Jarir narrated to us
from Yazid ibn Abi Ziyad, who said: Al-Husayn said, "I am the son of one who had four hundred companions, and I am the son of one who was killed with four thousand." He said: And the willows that were in their camp turned to ashes, the horizons of the sky turned red, and they sacrificed a she-camel in their camp, and they would see fire in its flesh."- Abu Abdullah ibn Mas'ud narrated to us, saying: Abu Bakr al-Hafiz narrated to me, and Abu Muhammad al-Sulami narrated to us, from Ahmad ibn Ali al-Hafiz, and Abu al-Qasim Isma'il ibn Abi Bakr narrated to us, saying: Abu Bakr ibn al-Tabari narrated to us, and they said:
Abu al-Husayn al-Qattan, Abdullah ibn Ja'far, Ya'qub, and Abu Bakr al-Humaydi all narrated to us from Sufyan, who said: My grandmother narrated to me, saying: "I indeed saw the willows turn to ashes, and I saw the meat as if it were on fire when Al-Husayn was killed."- Abu Muhammad al-Sulami narrated to us, saying: Abu Bakr al-Khatib narrated to me, and Abu al-Qasim ibn al-Samarqandi narrated to us, from Abu Bakr, both saying:
Abu al-Husayn, Abdullah, Ya'qub, and Abu Na'im all narrated to us from Uqbah ibn Abi Hafsah al-Sululi, from his father, who said: "The willows were from the willows of Al-Husayn, and it is said that they would turn to ashes like this."
