He said: And there was a man with us from Tayy. The Tayy man said: "I am one who participated in the killing of al-Husayn, and nothing has befallen me except good." Then the lamp was overshadowed, and the Tayy man stood up to fix it, so fire caught in his hairstyle. He ran towards the Euphrates, threw himself into the water, and we followed him. Whenever he submerged in the water, the fire fluttered on the surface, and when he emerged, it would seize him until it killed him.

He said, "We said, 'There is no one left among those who witnessed the killing of al-Husayn except that Allah has caused him to die a death of misery or kill him in a manner of misery.' Then the man from Tayy said: 'How untruthful you are, O people of Kufa! You claim that there is no one left among those who witnessed the killing of al-Husayn except that Allah has caused him to die a death of misery, and that he is not among those who witnessed the killing of al-Husayn, while there is no place with more wealth than this.'" He said that we withdrew our hands from the food. He said that the lamp was lit. Then he went to extinguish the lamp and tried to remove the wick with his finger. He said that the fire caught on his finger, so he extended it to his mouth, and it seized his beard. He said that he was brought to water until he threw himself into it. He said, "I saw him igniting in the water until he turned to ashes."
