- .... Al-Marwudi said in his book A'lam al-Nubuwwah: "And when you examine the status of his (peace be upon him) lineage and recognize the purity of his (peace be upon him) birth, you will know that he is a descendant of honorable forefathers, none of whom were ever misled. Rather, they were all masters and leaders, and the nobility of lineage and purity of birth are conditions of prophethood." This is his statement, and from the words of his uncle Abu Talib:
"When Quraysh gather for a day of pride, Abd Manaf is its essence and core.
And if the lineages of Abd Manaf are examined, you will find their nobles and elders in Hashim.
And if they boast one day, then Muhammad * is the Chosen One from its essence and the Most Honorable."

- .... And Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him and his father) said: "Indeed, Quraysh was a light before Allah, the Exalted, between His Hands, before He created Adam (peace be upon him) for five thousand years. That light would glorify (tasbih) and the angels would glorify with its glorification. So when Allah, the Exalted, created Adam (peace be upon him), He cast that light into his loins." He (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) said, "Then Allah, the Exalted, sent me down to the earth in the loins of Adam and made me in the loins of Noah and cast me into the loins of Abraham (peace be upon him). - .... He said: "Among the things that indicate that the fathers of Muhammad (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) were not polytheists is his (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) statement: 'I was never ceased to be transferred from the loins of the pure to the wombs of the pure'. And Allah, the Exalted, said: {Indeed, the polytheists are only unclean} (Surah At-Tawbah 9:28), so it follows that none of his (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) ancestors were polytheists." Thus, ended the words of Imam Fakhr al-Din.
