3437 - Abu Abd Allah Muhammad ibn Ya'qub al-Shaybani narrated to us, saying: Yahya ibn Muhammad ibn Yahya narrated to us, saying: Abd al-Rahman ibn al-Mubarak al-Absi narrated to us, from al-Sa'iq ibn Hazn, from Ali ibn al-Hakam, from Uthman ibn Umayr, from Abu Wail, from Ibn Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) who said: The sons of Mulaika came, and they were from the Ansar. They said, "O Messenger of Allah, our mother honors her husband and respects her guests, and she buried us in the Age of Ignorance. So where is our mother?" He replied, "Your mother is in the Fire." They stood up, and this was hard for them. Then the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) called them, and they returned. He said, "My mother is with your mother." They said, "A hypocrite among people will not help me. What will this avail him against his mother, except what the sons of Mulaika can avail against their mother, and we will tread on his heels." Then a young man from the Ansar said, "I did not see anyone who was more questioning of the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) than he": "O Messenger of Allah, I see your parents in the Fire." He said: "What I ask them, my Lord, will not help me, and I will be standing on that day in the Praiseworthy Station.".... This is a hadith with a sound chain of narration, which they did not include in their collections, and Uthman ibn Umayr is the son of al-Yaqzan.

4605 - "I asked my Lord not to let any of my family enter the Fire, and He granted me this," and in another narration, "He granted me that." This is supported by what Ibn Abi Hatim narrated from Ibn Abbas regarding Allah's statement, exalted be He: {And your Lord is surely going to give you, and you will be pleased} (Surah Ad-Duha 93:5). He said: From Muhammad's pleasure is that none of his family members enters the Fire. It was mentioned that the intended meaning of his family is the believers from Banu Hashim and Al-Muttalib, or Fatimah, Ali, their two sons, or his wives. However, the author held onto its generality and considered it evidence for the entry of his parents into Paradise. He said: The generality of the expression, even if it is subject to interpretation, is significant. He added: Its interpretation is that the inhabitants of the period of ignorance (futrah) are held in suspense until they are tested in the presence of the Sovereign, the Judge. Those for whom happiness has been decreed will obey and enter the Gardens, while those for whom misery has been decreed will disobey and enter the Fires. He mentioned that there is a report in Al-Hakim's work that suggests he anticipates intercession for his parents, although it is only intercession leading to guidance at the time of testing.

655 - Yahya ibn Muhammad ibn Sa'id narrated to us, saying: Ibrahim ibn Sa'id and Zuhair ibn Muhammad narrated to us - and Zuhair had the wording - saying: Abd al-Rahman ibn al-Mubarak narrated to us, saying: al-Sa'iq ibn Hazin narrated to us, from Ali ibn al-Hakam, from Uthman ibn Umayr, from Abi Wa'il, from Ibn Mas'ud, who said: The sons of Mulaikah came and said, "O Messenger of Allah, our mother used to honor guests, and she was born during the time of ignorance. So where is our mother?" He replied, "Your mother is in the Fire." They stood up, and this weighed heavily on them. Then the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) called them and said, "Indeed, my mother is with your mother." A hypocrite from the people said, "Will this not avail him against his mother, just as it will not avail the sons of Mulaikah against their mother?" A young man from the Ansar said, "O Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny), where is your father?" The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) replied to him, "I did not ask my Lord about this, so He will not give me anything in return."

39109 - "What I ask of them, meaning my parents, my Lord will give me in both of them," and indeed I will be standing on that day in the Praised Station (al-Maqam al-Mahmud) on the day when Allah descends upon His Throne, leaning on it as a man leans from the tightness of his surroundings due to the vastness between heaven and earth, and you will be brought to Him barefoot, naked, and uncircumcised. The first to be clothed will be Ibrahim, and Allah will say: "Clothe My Friend," and He will be brought two white garments from the garments of Paradise, which he will wear. Then he will sit facing the Throne, and I will be clothed immediately after him, so I will stand on the right side of Allah in a position that none may occupy but me, which the first and the last will envy. A river will be opened for me from al-Kawthar to my Pond (Hawdh), flowing with a substance of musk, its plants' debris being golden rods and its fruits pearls and gems. Its drink will be whiter than milk and sweeter than honey. Whoever drinks a sip from it will never feel thirsty afterwards, and whoever is deprived of it will not be able to quench their thirst afterwards."

- .... from Imran ibn Husayn (may Allah be pleased with him) who said: The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) said: "I asked my Lord not to admit anyone from the people of my House to the Fire, and He granted me that." Abu Sa'd and al-Mulla narrated this in his biography.
- .... And from Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) who said: I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) say: "O Allah, they are the descendants of Your Messenger, so forgive the wrongdoings of the wrongdoer among them for the sake of the one who does good, and grant them to me." He did this, and He will act." I said, "What did He do?" He replied, "He did it with you and will do it with those who come after you." Al-Mulla narrated this.
- .... From Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) who said: The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) said: "The first to intercede for on the Day of Resurrection from my Ummah will be the people of my House," then the closest, then the closest, then the Ansar, then those who believed in me and followed me from the people of Yemen, then the rest of the Arabs, then the non-Arabs. The author of the book al-Firdaws narrated this.

- .... And in another wording Ibn Umar said: The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) said, "On the Day of Resurrection, I will intercede for my father and my mother, and my uncle Abu Talib," and "a brother to me in ignorance," referring to his milk brother, who is the son of Halimah, as mentioned in a forthcoming narration. I say: It is possible that his mention of interceding for his parents was before their revival and belief in him, as we previously presented as a response to his prohibition against seeking forgiveness for them, and Allah knows best.

- .... Al-Hakim narrated and authenticated from Ibn Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him): that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) was asked about his parents, and he said: "I did not ask my Lord about them, and I will surely be standing in the Praiseworthy Station (Maqam Mahmud) that day." This is an indication that goodness is hoped for them at the time he stands in the Praiseworthy Station, namely, that he will intercede for them so they may be guided to obedience during the trial. There is no doubt that he (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) will be told when standing in that position: "Ask, and you shall be given; intercede, and your intercession will be accepted," as stated in the authentic hadiths. Thus, if he asks for that, he will be granted it.
- .... This is complemented by what Abu Sa'd al-Naysaburi narrated in Sharaf al-Mustafa and Umar al-Mulla in his Sirah, from 'Imran ibn Husayn, as a raised narration (marfu'): "I asked my Lord not to admit anyone from the people of my Household to the Fire, and He granted me that." Al-Tabari narrated from Ibn Abbas regarding Allah's statement, {And your Lord will surely give you, and you will be satisfied} (Surah Dumah: 5), that he said: "From the satisfaction of Muhammad (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) is that no one from his family will be admitted to the Fire."

- .... I was informed by Abu al-Husayn Yahya ibn al-Husayn ibn Isma'il al-Alawi who said: Abu Abd Allah Muhammad ibn Ali ibn al-Husayn al-Hasani narrated to us, saying: Zayd ibn Hajjab narrated to us, saying: Muhammad ibn Ammar al-Ittar narrated to us, saying: Ali ibn Muhammad ibn Musa al-Ghatafani narrated to me, saying: Muhammad ibn Harun al-Alawi narrated to me, saying: Muhammad ibn Ali ibn Hamza al-Abbasi narrated to me, saying: My father narrated to us, saying: Ali ibn Musa ibn Ja'far narrated to me, saying: My father narrated to me, from Ja'far ibn Muhammad, from his father from Ali ibn Abi Talib, who said: The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) said: Gabriel (peace be upon him) descended and said, "O Muhammad, Allah sends you greetings of peace and says: I have forbidden the Fire on the lineage that bore you, the womb that carried you, and the arms that nurtured you." He asked, "O Gabriel, explain this to me." Gabriel replied, "The lineage is Abdullah, the womb is Aminah bint Wahb, and the arms are Abd, meaning Abdul Muttalib, and Fatimah bint Asad." This is undoubtedly a fabricated hadith, and its chain of narration is as you see.

- .... Ibn Mundhir, al-Tabarani, and al-Hakim narrated this, and he (al-Hakim) authenticated it, while al-Dhahabi criticized it, from Ibn Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him), who said: The sons of Muliqa came, and they were from the Ansar, and said, "O Messenger of Allah, our mother used to uphold her husband and honor her guests, but she was buried in the days of ignorance (Jahiliyya). So where is our mother?" He replied, "Your mother is in the Fire." They stood, and this was difficult for them, so the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) called them, and they returned. He said, "But my mother is with yours." Then a hypocrite among the people said, "What good will this do her, any more than what the sons of Muliqa can do for their mother, while we tread at your heels?" A young man from the Ansar said, "I have not seen anyone ask the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) more than he did." He continued, "O Messenger of Allah, where are your parents?" The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) replied, "I did not ask my Lord about them, and He will obey me regarding them." In another wording: "He will heed my request regarding them, and I will be standing on the Day of Judgment in the Praiseworthy Station."
