- .... And al-Bayhaqi narrated in al-Dala'il and Ibn Asakir
from Anas, who said: The Prophet (peace be upon him) delivered a sermon and said: "I am Muhammad bin Abdullah bin Abdul Muttalib, ibn Hashim, ibn Abd Manaf, ibn Qusi, ibn Kilab, ibn Murrah, ibn Ka'b, ibn Lu'ay, ibn Ghalib, ibn Fihr, ibn Malik, ibn al-Nadr, ibn Kinanah, ibn Khuzaymah, ibn Mudarikah, ibn Ilyas, ibn Mudar, ibn Nizar. And no people have ever parted into two groups except that He made me in the better of them. And I was brought forth from between parents, and nothing of the time of ignorance (jahiliyya) affected me, and I was born of a lawful marriage, not from unlawful unions, from the time of Adam until I reached my father and mother
so I am the best of you in character and the best of you in parentage."
