Hadith No: 1

Narrated Al-Bara:

that a man asked him. "O Abu '`Umara! Did you flee on the day (of the battle) of Hunain?" He replied, "No, by Allah, the Prophet (s.a.w.a.) did not flee but the hasty people fled and the people of the Tribe of Hawazin attacked them with arrows, while the Prophet (s.a.w.a.) was riding his white mule and Abu Sufyan bin Al-Harith was holding its reins, and the Prophet (s.a.w.a.) was saying, 'I am the Prophet (s.a.w.a.) in truth, I am the son of `Abdul Muttalib.' 3245 - "I am Muhammad ibn Abdullah ibn Abdul Muttalib," son of Hashim, son of Abd Manaf, son of Qusay, son of Kilab, son of Murra, son of Ilyas, son of Kab, son of Lu'ayy, son of Ghalib, son of Fhar, son of Malik, son of al-Nadr, son of Kinana, son of Khuzaymah, son of Mudar, son of Nizar, son of Ma'ad, son of Adnan. And no people have divided into two differing groups except that Allah has placed me in the better of the two. I was brought forth from between two parents, and nothing of the era of ignorance affected me. I was born of lawful marriage, not unlawful, from the time of Adam until I reached my father and mother. So I am the best of you in lineage and the best of you in father."

- .... And al-Bayhaqi narrated in al-Dala'il and Ibn Asakir from Anas, who said: The Prophet (peace be upon him) delivered a sermon and said: "I am Muhammad bin Abdullah bin Abdul Muttalib, ibn Hashim, ibn Abd Manaf, ibn Qusi, ibn Kilab, ibn Murrah, ibn Ka'b, ibn Lu'ay, ibn Ghalib, ibn Fihr, ibn Malik, ibn al-Nadr, ibn Kinanah, ibn Khuzaymah, ibn Mudarikah, ibn Ilyas, ibn Mudar, ibn Nizar. And no people have ever parted into two groups except that He made me in the better of them. And I was brought forth from between parents, and nothing of the time of ignorance (jahiliyya) affected me, and I was born of a lawful marriage, not from unlawful unions, from the time of Adam until I reached my father and mother so I am the best of you in character and the best of you in parentage."

31867 - I am Muhammad ibn Abdullah ibn Abd al-Muttalib ibn Hashim ibn Abd Manaf ibn Qusai ibn Kilab ibn Murra ibn Kab ibn Lu'ay ibn Ghalib ibn Quraysh ibn Malik ibn al-Nadr ibn Kinana ibn Khuzaymah ibn Mudarikah ibn Ilyas ibn Mudar ibn Nazaar. Whenever people have split into two groups, Allah has always placed me in the better of the two. I was born from between a mother and father, and nothing from the filth of ignorance (jahiliyya) touched me. I came into the world through lawful marriage, not unlawful relations, from the time of Adam until I reached my father and mother. So I am the best of you in lineage and the best of you in parentage.

He said: "Only Abbas and Abu Sufyan ibn Harb would say that if they came to Yemen to ensure safety for themselves, and I will not disassociate from my forefathers. We are the sons of al-Nadr ibn Kinana." Then the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) addressed the people and said: "I am Muhammad ibn Abdullah ibn Abd al-Muttalib, ibn Hashim, ibn Abd Manaf, ibn Qusai, ibn Kilab, ibn Murra, ibn Kab, ibn Lu'ay, ibn Ghalib, ibn Figg, ibn Malik, ibn al-Nadr, ibn Kinana, ibn Khuzaymah, ibn Mudarikah, ibn Ilyas, ibn Mudar, ibn Nizar. - Abu al-Qāsim Ismā'il ibn Muhammad ibn al-Faḍl al-Ḥāfiẓ narrated to us in Isfahan, along with Abu Ḥafṣ ʿUmar ibn Muhammad ibn al-Ḥasan al-Farghūlī in Marv, while I was reading to them, and Abu al-Barakāt ʿAbdullah ibn Muhammad ibn al-Faḍl al-Farawī from his own words in Nishapur, who said: Abu Bakr Ahmad ibn Ali ibn Khalaf al-Shīrāzī narrated to me that Al-Ḥakam Abu Abdullah Muhammad ibn Abdullah al-Ḥāfiẓ narrated to me: Abu Ali al-Husayn ibn Ali al-Ḥāfiẓ narrated to me: Muhammad ibn Sa'id ibn Bakr, the judge in ʿAsqalan, narrated to us: Salih ibn Ali al-Nufalī narrated to us: Abdullah ibn Muhammad ibn Rabīʿah narrated to us: Malik ibn Anas narrated to us, from al-Zuhrī, from Anas ibn Malik (may Allah be pleased with him), who said: The Prophet (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) became aware that some men from Kindi were claiming that he was one of them. He said: "Only al-ʿAbbas and Abu Sufyan ibn Harb would say that if they came to Yemen to ensure our safety with that." And "we do not deny our ancestors; we are the children of al-Nuḍar ibn Kinānah." Then the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) addressed the people and said: "I am Muhammad ibn Abdullah ibn Abd al-Muttalib, ibn Hashim, ibn Abd Manaf, ibn Qusayy, ibn Kilab, ibn Murrat, ibn Kab ibn Lu'ayy, ibn Ghalib, ibn Fihr, ibn Malik, ibn al-Nuḍar, ibn Kinānah, ibn Khuzaymah, ibn Mudrikah, ibn Ilyas, ibn Mudar, ibn Nizar. Whenever people have divided into two groups, Allah has made me a part of the good one until I left this world in lawful wedlock and not in illegitimacy from the time of Adam until I reached my father and mother. So I am the best of you in lineage and the best of you in fatherhood (peace be upon him and his holy progeny)."
