- .... Al-Marudi said in his book A'lam al-Nubuwwah: "And when you examine the situation of his lineage (peace be upon him) and recognize the purity of his birth (peace be upon him), you will know that he is the descendant of honorable ancestors, none of whom are of questionable status; rather, they are all lords and leaders. The nobility of lineage and the purity of birth are conditions for prophethood." This is his statement, and part of the words of his uncle Abu Talib:
"When Quraysh gather one day for a boast, the children of Abd Manaf are its essence and core.
And if the lineages of Abd Manaf are considered, in Hashim are its nobles and elders.
And if one boasts one day, then Muhammad * is the chosen one from its essence and its noble ones."

- .... He said: "And what indicates that the fathers of Muhammad (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) were not polytheists is his (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) statement: 'I was never transferred except from the loins of the pure to the wombs of the pure.' And Allah, the Exalted, said: {Indeed, the polytheists are impure} (Surah At-Tawbah 9:28). Therefore, it is necessary that none of his grandfathers (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) was a polytheist." Thus spoke Imam Fakhr al-Din.
