3611 - Abu al-Abbas Muhammad ibn Ya'qub narrated to us, saying: Al-Abbas ibn Muhammad al-Duri narrated to us, saying: Uthman ibn Umar narrated to us, saying: Abdul Rahman ibn Abdullah ibn Dinar narrated to us, from Sharik ibn Abi Namr, from Ata ibn Yasar from Umm Salamah (may she be pleased with her): who said: "This verse was revealed in my house: {Indeed, Allah only intends to remove the impurity from you, O People of the [Prophet's] House, and to make you pure and spotless" (Surah al-Ahzab 33:33)}. She said: Then the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) sent for Ali, Fatimah, and the two sons, Hasan and Husayn (may they be pleased with them all), and said, "O Allah, these are the People of My House." Umm Salamah said: "O Messenger of Allah, am I not one of the People of the House?" He replied: "You are from my family, better than that, and these are my People of the House. O Allah, my family is most deserving." This is a sahih hadith according to the criteria of Bukhari, although they did not include it in their compilations.

3612 - Abu al-Abbas Muhammad ibn Ya'qub narrated to us, saying: Al-Abbas ibn al-Walid ibn Mazid narrated to me from my father, who said: I heard al-Awza'i say: Abu Ammar narrated to me, saying: Wathila ibn al-Asq' (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated to me, saying: I came intending to see Ali (may Allah be pleased with him), but did not find him. Then Fatimah (may Allah be pleased with her) said: "Go to the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny), and he will call him." So I sat down, and he came with the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) and entered. I entered with them. Then the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) called Hasan and Husayn, and seated each of them on his thigh, and drew Fatimah close to his lap and her husband, and then wrapped his cloak around them. I was a witness and said: {Indeed, Allah intends to remove from you, O Ahl al-Bayt, [any] uncleanliness and to purify you with a thorough purification} (Surah Al-Ahzab 33:33) O Allah, these are the people of my house. This is a sound hadith in accordance with the criteria of Muslim, and they did not include it.

4708 - Abu Bakr Ahmad ibn Ja'far ibn Hamdan al-Qutti'i informed us in Baghdad from his original manuscript, saying: Abdullah ibn Ahmad ibn Hanbal narrated to me, from my father, who said: Yahya ibn Hammad narrated to us, from Abu 'Awânah, from Abu Balj, from Amr ibn Maymun, who said: .... And Ali was the first to believe among the people after Khadijah (may Allah be pleased with her). He said: And the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) took his robe and placed it over Ali, Fatimah, Hasan, and Husayn, and said: {“Indeed, Allah intends to remove from you the impurity, O People of the House, and to purify you with a thorough purification”} (Surah al-Ahzab 33:33) ....

4759 - Abu Bakr Ahmad ibn Salman al-Faqih and Abu al-Abbas Muhammad ibn Ya'qub both said: Al-Hasan ibn Mukarram al-Bazzar narrated to us, saying: Uthman ibn Umar narrated to us, saying: Abdur Rahman ibn Abdullah ibn Dinar narrated to us, from Sharik ibn Abi Numr, from Ata ibn Yasar from Umm Salamah, who said: "This verse was revealed in my house: {Allah only wishes to remove the impurity from you, O People of the Prophet's House, and to make you pure and spotless" (Surah Al-Ahzab 33:33)}. She said: Then the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) sent for Ali, Fatimah, Hasan, and Husayn, and said: "These are the People of my House." This is a sound hadith, meeting the conditions of al-Bukhari, although neither he nor Muslim recorded it.

4760 - Abu al-Abbas Muhammad ibn Yaqub narrated to us, saying: Al-Rabi ibn Sulayman al-Muradi and Bahr ibn Nasr al-Khowlani both said: Bishr ibn Bakr narrated to us, and al-Awza'i narrated to me from Abu Ammar, who said: Wathilah ibn al-Asqa' narrated to me, saying: I went to Ali but did not find him. Then Fatimah said to me: "Go to the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny); he will call him." So he came with the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny), and they both entered, and I entered with them. Then the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) called for Hasan and Husayn and seated each of them on his thighs, drew Fatimah close to his lap, and her husband, and wrapped them all in a garment, saying: {“Indeed, Allah intends to remove from you the impurity, O People of the Prophet's House, and to purify you with a thorough purification”} (Surah al-Ahzab 33:33). Then he said: "These are the People of my House. O Allah, the People of my House are most deserving.” This is a sahih hadith according to the conditions of the two sheikhs, and they did not narrate it.

4761 - Abu al-Abbas Muhammad ibn Ya'qub narrated to us, saying: Al-Rabi' ibn Sulayman al-Muradi and Bahr ibn Nasr al-Khulanith said: Bishr ibn Ahmad al-Mahbubi narrated to us in Merv, saying: Sa'id ibn Mas'ud narrated to us, saying: Ubaydullah ibn Musa narrated to us, from Zakariya ibn Abi Zaydiq, saying: Mus'ab ibn Shaybah narrated to us from Safiyyah, who said: "Umm al-Mu'minin Aisha (ra) told me, saying: 'The Prophet (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) went out one morning wearing a black shawl made of unraveled hair, and Hassan and Hussain came to him, and he welcomed them both inside the shawl with him. Then Fatimah came, and he welcomed her in with them. Finally, Ali came, and he welcomed him too, and then he said: {Indeed, Allah intends to remove from you, O People of the Prophet's House, any impurity and to purify you with a thorough purification} (Surah Al-Ahzab 33:33). This is a sahih (authentic) hadith according to the criteria of the two Sheikhns, and they did not include it in their collections.

4762 - Abu Ishmael Muhammad ibn al-Nahwi wrote to me, mentioning that al-Hasan ibn Arfatah narrated to them, saying: Ali ibn Thabit al-Jazari narrated to me, from Bakir ibn Musmar, the freedman of Amir ibn Sa'd, "I heard Amir ibn Sa'd say: Sa'd said: 'Revelation descended upon the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny), and he brought Ali, Fatimah, and their two sons under his cloak, and then said, "O Allah, these are my family and the people of my household."'"

4763 - Abu al-Hasan Isma'il ibn Muhammad ibn al-Fadl ibn Muhammad al-Sharani narrated to me, saying: My grandfather narrated to us, saying: Abu Bakr ibn Shaybah al-Hizammi narrated to us, saying: Muhammad ibn Isma'il ibn Abi Fudayk narrated to me, from Abd al-Rahman ibn Abi Bakr al-Maliki, from Isma'il ibn Abdullah ibn Ja'far ibn Abi Talib, from his father, who said: When the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) looked at mercy descending, he said, "Call her to me, call her to me." Then Safiyyah said, "Who, O Messenger of Allah?" He replied, "The أهل بيتي (People of My House): Ali, Fatimah, al-Hasan, and al-Husayn." So they were brought to him, and the Prophet (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) threw his cloak over them and then raised his hands, saying, "O Allah, these are my family. Bless Muhammad and the family of Muhammad." And Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, revealed the verse: {Indeed, Allah wishes to remove the impurity from you, O People of the Prophet's House, and to purify you with a thorough purification.} (Surah Al-Ahzab 33:33). This is a hadith with a sound chain of narration, but they did not include it in their collections. It has been reliably narrated that he taught them how to pray for the people of his house just as he taught them to pray for his holy progeny.

4802 - Abu Bakr Muhammad ibn Abdullah al-Hafid narrated to us, saying: Al-Husayn ibn al-Fadl al-Bajjali narrated to us, saying: Afan ibn Muslim narrated to us, saying: Hammad ibn Salamah narrated to me, from Humaid and Ali ibn Zayd from Anas ibn Malik (ra) that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) used to pass by Fatimah's (ra) door for six months when he went out for the Fajr prayer, saying: "Prayer, O People of the House," { "Allah only wishes to remove the impurity from you, O People of the House, and to make you pure and holy" } (Surah al-Ahzab 33:33). This is a hadith sahih (authentic) according to the criteria of Muslim, although they did not include it in their collections.
