- .... His statement: (of stalks) .... in the interpretation of God's statement, the Exalted: {Indeed, God only wishes to remove the impurity from you, O people of the Prophet's household, and to make you pure and spotless} (Surah al-Ahzab 33:33) Um Salamah said: "When this was revealed, the Prophet (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) called Fatimah, Ali, Hasan, and Husayn and enveloped them in a cloak, saying, 'O Allah, these are my household.'" The narration was narrated by al-Tirmidhi and others, and the reference of these people of the household goes back to Khadijah because Hasan and Husayn are from Fatimah, and Fatimah is her daughter. Ali grew up in Khadijah's house as a child and later married her daughter. Thus, the return of the noble Prophet's household is shown to be to Khadijah and not to anyone else.

5704 - .... Ahmad and al-Nasa'i narrated from the route of 'Amr ibn Maymun: I was sitting with Ibn Abbas when seven men came to him and he mentioned a story in which it was said that he had come, shaking off his robe, and he said: "They attacked a man of honor, and the Prophet (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) said: 'I will send a man whom Allah will not disgrace, who loves Allah and His Messenger.'" Then he came, he was eye-bleary, and he spurted into his eyes, then shook the flag three times and gave it to him. He came with Safiyya bint Huyayy and he sent him to recite Surah Bara'ah (Chapter 9) to the Quraysh, saying: "No one will go except a man from me and I am from him." He said to his cousins: "Which of you will be my supporter in this world and the Hereafter?" They all refused, so Ali said: "I will," and he said: "He is my supporter in this world and the Hereafter." And he took his cloak and placed it on Ali, Fatimah, Hasan, and Husayn, and said: {Indeed, Allah intends to remove all impurity from you, O People of the Prophet's House, and to make you pure and holy} (Surah Al-Ahzab 33:33).

Then he called for water, performed ablution with it, and poured it over them, saying: "O Allah, bless them, and may Your blessings be upon them, and grant them blessing in their descendants." And Um Salamah said: "In my house, the verse was revealed:" {“Allah only wishes to remove the impurity from you, O People of the Prophetic Household, and to purify you with a thorough purification”} (Surah al-Ahzab 33:33).
