And Imam Ahmad said: Aswad ibn Amer and Affan narrated to us from Hammad ibn Salamah, from Ali ibn Zayd ibn Jud'an from Anas: that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) would pass by Fatimah's house for six months when he went out to the Fajr prayer and say: "Prayer, O people of the house": {“Indeed, Allah intends to remove from you the impurity, O people of the house, and to make you pure and spotless”} (Surah Al-Ahzab 33:33). - .... And the Imam also said: Muhammad ibn Mus'ab narrated to us, saying: Al-Awza'i narrated to us, from Shaddad ibn Ammar, who said: I entered upon Wathilah ibn al-Asqa' (may he be pleased with him) while he was with a group of people, and they were talking about Ali (may Allah be pleased with him), and they cursed him. So, I cursed him along with them. When they stood to leave, he said to me: "You cursed this man." I replied: "He was cursed, and I cursed him with them. Should I not tell you what I saw from the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny)?" I said: "Yes." He said: "I went to Fatimah (may Allah be pleased with her) to ask her about Ali (may Allah be pleased with him and her)." She said: "He has gone to the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny)," so I sat down to wait for him until the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) came, accompanied by Ali, Hasan, and Husayn (may Allah be pleased with them), each of them holding the hand of the other. Until he entered and brought Ali and Fatimah (may Allah be pleased with them) close, sitting them between him, and he seated Hasan and Husayn (may Allah be pleased with them) on his thighs. Then he wrapped them all in his cloak, or he said in his shawl, and the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) recited this verse: {Indeed, Allah intends to remove the impurity from you, O People of the Prophet's House, and to purify you with a thorough purification} (Al-Ahzab 33:33) and he said: "O Allah, these are the People of my House, and the People of my House are most deserving."

When they stood up, he said: Sit down until I tell you about this one they insulted. I was with the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) when Ali, Fatimah, Hasan, and Husayn (may Allah be pleased with them) came. He (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) threw a cloak over them and then said: O Allah, these are my Ahl al-Bayt. Another chain of narration said Ibn Jarir: Abu Kureib narrated to us, saying: Musab ibn al-Muqdam narrated to us, from Sa'id ibn Zuraybi, from Muhammad ibn Sirin, from Abu Huraira, from Umm Salama (may Allah be pleased with her), who said: Fatimah (may Allah be pleased with her) came to the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) with a large pot she had prepared, containing a type of pudding, which she carried on a platter and placed between his hands (peace be upon him and his holy progeny). Then Fatimah (may Allah be pleased with her) came, and I could not bear to deny her access to her father.
