Chapter on the Letter Ha - Abu al-Hamra, the Messenger of Allah's (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) servant

6752 - Abdullah ibn Ja'far narrated to us, saying: Ismail ibn Abdullah narrated to us, saying: Abu Na'im narrated to us, saying: Yunus ibn Abi Ishaq narrated to us, saying: Abu Dawud from Abu al-Hamra, who said: "I stayed in protective watch (murabat) in the city for seven months during the time of the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny), and I saw the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) when dawn broke come to the door of Ali and Fatimah (may Allah be pleased with them both) and say: 'Prayer, prayer!': {Indeed, Allah only wishes to remove the impurity from you, O Ahl al-Bayt, and to make you pure and spotless} (Surah Al-Ahzab 33:33)." Abu Asim narrated it from Ubadah ibn Yahya from Abu Dawud, and Umar ibn Abd al-Ghaffar narrated it from Ziyad ibn al-Mundhir from Abu Dawud. Yahya ibn Ya'la al-Aslami narrated it from Yunus ibn Khabbab and said, from Nafi from Abu al-Hamra.

7418 - Muhammad ibn Ahmad ibn al-Hasan narrated to us, saying: Beshir ibn Musa narrated to us, saying: Abdullah ibn Salih al-Ajli narrated to us, saying: Fudayl ibn Marzuq narrated to us, from Atiyyah from Abu Sa'id al-Khudri, that Um Salamah told him that this verse was revealed in her house: {Indeed, Allah only desires to remove the impurity from you, O people of the Prophet's household, and to purify you with a thorough purification} (Surah Al-Ahzab 33:33). She said: "I was sitting by the door." She continued: "I said, 'O Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny), are you not one of the people of the household?'" He replied, "You are on the right path, you are one of the wives of the Prophet (peace be upon him and his holy progeny)." She said, and the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) was in the house with Ali, Fatimah, Hasan, and Husayn (peace be upon them all).

- And Ibn Abi Asim informed us, saying: Abu al-Rabi' al-Zahrani narrated to us, saying: Ammar ibn Muhammad narrated to us, from Sufyan al-Thawri, from Dawud Abi al-Juhhaf, from Attiya from Abu Sa'id al-Khudri regarding Allah's Almighty statement: {Indeed, Allah only intends to remove the impurity from you, O People of the Prophet's House, and to make you pure and clean (Surah Al-Ahzab 33:33)} who said: It was revealed concerning five: the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny), Ali, Fatimah, Hasan, and Husayn.

- Muhammad ibn al-Fadl narrated to us, saying: Ishaq ibn Ibrahim Shadhan narrated to us, saying: al-Kirmani ibn Amr narrated to us, saying: Atiyyah al-A'ufi narrated to us from Abu Sa'id al-Khudri from the Prophet (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) when the verse was revealed: {And command your family to pray and be steadfast in it} (Surah Taha 20:132) that for eight months, the Prophet of God (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) would come to the door of Ali for the Fajr prayer, saying, "Prayer, رحمكم الله" (may God's mercy be upon you), {God only intends to remove the impurity from you, O People of the Prophet's House, and to purify you thoroughly} (Surah Al-Ahzab 33:33).

- Narrated to us: Sulayman ibn Ahmad narrated to us: Ahmad ibn Mujahid al-Isbahani narrated to us: Abdullah ibn Umar ibn Aban narrated to us: Zafar ibn Sulayman narrated to us, from Ta'umah ibn Amr al-Ja'fari, from Abu al-Jahhaf Dawud ibn Abi Awf from Sharh ibn Hushaf, who said: I went to Um Salamah to offer my condolences on the death of Hasan ibn Ali (peace be upon them). She said: The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) entered and sat on a pillow of ours. Fatimah came to him with something and placed it down. He said: "Call me Hasan, Husayn, and your cousin Ali." When they had all gathered around him, he said: "O Allah, these are my supporters and the people of my household. Remove from them all impurity and make them completely pure."

- Abu Ishaq ibn Hamza narrated to us, saying: Muhammad ibn Ishaq ibn al-Walid, Abu Abdullah, narrated to us, saying: Muhammad ibn Harun al-Razi narrated to us, saying: Uthman ibn Umar ibn Faris narrated to us, saying: Abdul Rahman ibn Abdullah ibn Dinar narrated to us, from Sharik ibn Abi Namir, from Ata ibn Yasar from Umm Salama, who said: "It was in my house that the verse was revealed: {Indeed, Allah wants to remove the impurity from you, O People of the Prophet's House, and to make you pure and holy" (Surah Al-Ahzab 33:33)}. He then sent for Ali, Fatimah, Hasan, and Husayn, and said: 'O Allah, these are the People of my House.'" She said: I said, "O Messenger of Allah, what am I to do with the People of the House?" He replied: "Yes, you are, God willing."
