4750 - And he mentioned the hadith of Zayd ibn Arqam: that the Prophet (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) said, "I remind you of Allah concerning My Ahlul Bayt." He said, "We said, who are His Ahlul Bayt? Are they not His wives?" He replied, "No, by Allah! It is rather those of His kin and household with whom He would be pleased, from whom charity is forbidden after Him: the descendants of Ali, the descendants of Aqil, the descendants of Ja'far, and the descendants of Abbas." Al-Qadi said, and Tha'labi stated: "Ahlul Bayt among the Arabs refers to a man's parents and children, like grandfathers, uncles, and their children. Both males and females are included in this." Al-Qadi mentioned that a man's children do not fall under the term relatives or Ahlul Bayt, but this is unfounded, for the children of the Prophet (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) are indeed from his Ahlul Bayt and relatives who were forbidden charity and were given from the share of those near in kin, and they are his closest relatives. How can they not be considered part of his relatives?
And the Prophet (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) said to Fatimah, her two sons, and her husband: "O Allah, these are My Ahlul Bayt. So, remove from them impurity and purify them completely."....

And the Prophet (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) said to Fatimah, her two sons, and her husband: "O Allah, these are My Ahlul Bayt. So, remove from them impurity and purify them completely." And if one were to stand on the relatives of a man or bequeath to his relatives, his children would be included without any disagreement that you are aware of, and Al-Khurqi counted them among the relatives, saying: "This would extend to four generations," because the Prophet (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) did not extend beyond the Banu Hashim with the share of those near in kin, making Hashim the fourth father, and one cannot be a fourth unless the Prophet (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) is counted as a father, for Hashim is only the fourth of the Prophet (peace be upon him and his holy progeny). (Section) And if he bequeathed to his family, it is like his relatives, for there is a statement in the words of Zayd ibn Arqam regarding the Ahlul Bayt of the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny).
