Volume: (1) - Page Number: (136)
205 - Ahmad ibn Ja'far al-Isbahani narrated to us, saying: Al-Hasan ibn Ali al-Manatiqi narrated to us, saying: Abu Zuhair Abd al-Rahman ibn Maghra narrated to us, from Abu Sa'd Sa'id al-Baqal, from Ikrimah from Ibn Abbas regarding Allah's, the Exalted's, statement: {Say, "I do not ask you for it any reward, except for the love in kinship" (Surah Ash-Shura 42:23)}. He said: Verily, the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) did not have a maternal relative from any of the tribes of Quraysh except that he had an umm among them, until he had an umm in Hudhail. Then Allah, the Exalted, said: "Say, I do not ask you for it any reward, except that you uphold my memory among my kin and not betray me, or lie to me, or harm me." No one narrated this from Abu Sa'd Sa'id al-Baqal except Abu Zuhair.

2155 - Ahmad ibn Zuhair narrated to us, who said: Ahmad ibn Yahya al-Sufi narrated to us, who said: Isma'il ibn Aban al-Warraq narrated to us, who said: Salam ibn Abi Umrah narrated to us, from Ma'ruf ibn Kharbuz, from Abu al-Tufayl, who said: .... Then he said, "Whoever knows me has known me, and whoever does not know me, I am al-Hasan ibn Muhammad (peace be upon him and his holy progeny)." Then he recited this verse, the words of Joseph: "And I have followed the religion of my fathers, Ibrahim, Ishaq, and Ya'qub." Then he began to speak from the Book of Allah and said: "I am the son of the bringer of good news, I am the son of the warner, I am the son of the prophet, I am the son of the one who invites to Allah by His permission, I am the son of the luminous lamp, I am the son of the one who Was sent as a mercy to the worlds. I am from the Ahl al-Bayt from whom Allah has removed impurity and purified them completely. I am from the Ahl al-Bayt whose love and authority Allah, the Almighty, has made obligatory, and He said this in what was revealed to Allah on Muhammad (peace be upon him and his holy progeny): {Say, "I do not ask of you for it any reward, except for the allegiance in kinship" (Surah Ash-Shura 42:23)}. None narrated this hadith from Abu al-Tufayl except Ma'ruf ibn Kharbuz, and none narrated it from Ma'ruf except Salam ibn Abi Umrah. Isma'il ibn Aban was unique in this.

5758 - Muhammad ibn Abdullah al-Hadrami narrated to us, saying: Muhammad ibn Marzuq narrated to us, saying: Husayn ibn al-Hasan al-Ashqar narrated to us, from Nasir ibn Ziyad, from Uthman Abu al-Yaqzan, from Sa'id ibn Jubayr, from Ibn Abbas, who said: The Ansar said among themselves: "What if we gathered some wealth for the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) and he could extend his hand without anyone standing between him and it?" So they said, "O Messenger of Allah, we wanted to gather for you from our wealth." Then Allah, the Almighty, revealed: {Say, "I do not ask you for it any reward, except for love in [for] my near relatives"} (Surah Ash-Shura 42:23). So they went out, differing, and some said, "Did you not see what the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) said?" And some of them said, "He only said this so that we could fight for the people of his household and support them." Then Allah, the Almighty, revealed: {Or do they say, "He has invented a lie against Allah"?} (Surah Ash-Shura 42:24), up to His words: {And He is the One who accepts repentance from His servants} (Surah Ash-Shura 42:25). He hinted to them about repentance, up to His statement: {And He will respond to those who have believed and done righteous deeds and increase them from His bounty} (Surah Ash-Shura 42:26). They are the ones who said this, that they should repent to Allah and seek His forgiveness. This hadith was not narrated from Uthman Abu al-Yaqzan except by Nasir ibn Ziyad, and Husayn al-Ashqar was unique in it.
