- .... Al-Hafiz Ibn Marduyah also narrated it in his book Manaqib Ali (peace be upon him) with his chain of narration from Sa'id ibn Jubayr
from Ibn Abbas, who said: When the statement of Allah, the Exalted, Almighty, was revealed,: {Say, "I do not ask of you a reward for it except for the love in kinship."}
(Surah Ash-Shura 42:23), the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) was asked, "Who are these that we must love?" He replied, "Ali, Fatimah, and their two sons," repeating this three times.
- Abu al-Husayn Ahmad ibn Ali al-Tawzi al-Qadi narrated to us, reading to me in Baghdad, saying: Abu Ubaydullah Muhammad ibn Ubaydullah al-Marzubani narrated to us, saying: Abu Hafs Umar ibn Dawud ibn Unbasa, known as Ibn Bayan al-Omani, narrated to us, saying: Muhammad ibn Isa al-Wasiti, Abu Bakr, narrated to us, saying: Yahya ibn Abd al-Hamid al-Hamani narrated to us, saying: al-Husayn ibn al-Hasan al-Ashqar narrated to us, from Qays ibn al-Rabi, from al-A'mash, from Sa'id ibn Jubayr
