- .... Ahmad narrated in his Musnad: with his chain of narration from Sa'id ibn Jubayr from Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him and his father) who said: When the verse was revealed: {Say, "I do not ask of you any reward for it except for love for my near relatives" (Surah Ash-Shura 42:23)} they said, "O Messenger of Allah, who are those whose love has become obligatory for us?" He replied, "Ali, Fatimah, Hasan, and Husayn".... - .... And in al-Manaqib, from Muhammad al-Baqir (peace be upon him), regarding Allah's statement: “Say, whatever reward I have asked of you is yours” (Surah Sad 38:47), he said: "The reward that is love for my family, which I did not ask you for anything else, is yours. You will be guided by it, find happiness through it, and be saved from the punishment of Allah on the Day of Resurrection." He further stated that love is derived from 'udd, which is a constant, enduring, and firm love."
- .... Abu al-Mu'ayyid Tohfiq ibn Ahmad al-Khwarizmi narrated from Abu Huraira, who said: The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) said, "By the One in whose hand is my soul, a servant's feet will not move from before Allah on the Day of Resurrection until he is asked about his life and how he spent it, about his wealth and how he earned it and where he spent it, and about his love for us, the Ahl al-Bayt." This was also narrated by a group, including al-Tirmidhi, from Buraydah al-Aslami, and al-Tirmidhi said: "This is a good and authentic hadith." Thus ends Jawahir al-Aqdain.

616 - And Zayd ibn al-Hasan al-Mujtabā said: My father, al-Ḥasan, delivered a sermon after Ali ibn Abi Talib (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) was killed. He praised and thanked Allah and said: "O people, a man has been taken from this world tonight who was not preceded by those before him nor will be reached by those after him. My grandfather (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) used to give him his banner, and he would fight while Gabriel was on his right and Michael on his left. He would not return until Allah opened a victory for him. He left nothing on the face of the earth, whether yellow or white, except for seventy-seven dirhams that remained from his gifts, which he intended to use to buy a servant for his family." Then he said: "O people, whoever knows me, knows me, and whoever does not know me, I am al-Ḥasan ibn Ali. I am the son of the Wasi (Executor). I am the son of the Bashir (Bringer of Good News). I am the son of the Nadhir (Warner). I am the son of the Caller to Allah by His permission. I am the son of the Illuminating Lamp. I am from the Ahl al-Bayt (People of the House) in whom Gabriel was, and from whom he would ascend. I am from the Ahl al-Bayt whom Allah has purified and from whom He has removed all impurity, I am from the Ahl al-Bayt whose love Allah has made obligatory upon every Muslim." Then he continued: "And Allah, Blessed and Exalted, said to His Prophet (peace be upon him and his holy progeny): {Say, O Muhammad, 'I do not ask you for it any reward, except for love in [my] near relatives,' and whoever performs a good deed, We will increase for him in it a good (Surah Ash-Shura 42:23)}." Al-Dualabi narrated this, and thus, performing a good deed means loving us, the Ahl al-Bayt.

This book is for the complete saint, the possessor of unveiling and miracles, the cream of the masters and the guide of the gnostics, our lord and exemplar, Mir Sayyid Ali ibn Shahab al-Hamadanil, may Allah sanctify his secrets and grant us his blessings and lights. Praise be to Allah for what He has favored me with, of the foremost blessings, and inspired me towards the love of His beloved, the gatherer of virtues and noble traits, whom Allah sent as a messenger to all nations, Muhammad, the unlettered Arab (peace be upon him and his holy progeny). And after: Indeed, Allah, the Exalted, said, {Say, "I do not ask you for it any reward, except for love in family ties" (Surah Ash-Shura 42:23)} And the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) said, "Love Allah for what He has nourished you with of His blessings, and love me for the love of Allah, and love my family for my love."
