- Ali ibn Abdul Rahman ibn Isa al-Dahqan narrated to us in Kufa, saying: Al-Husain ibn al-Hakam al-Hibri narrated to us, saying: al-Hasan ibn al-Husain al-'Arani narrated to us, saying: Habban ibn Ali al-'Anzi narrated to us, from al-Kalbi, from Abu Salih from Ibn Abbas regarding His Exalted Statement: {So say, 'Come, let us call our sons and your sons, our women and your women' (Aal 'Imran 3:61)} to His statement: {the liars' (Aal 'Imran 3:61)} was revealed to the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) and Ali (peace be upon him): himself, and {our women and your women (Aal 'Imran 3:61)} in Fatimah (peace be upon her), and {our sons and your sons (Aal 'Imran 3:61)} in Hasan and Husayn (peace be upon them), and the challenge against the liars was revealed concerning al-Aqib, al-Sayyid, Abd al-Masih, and their companions. Al-Hakim said: There have been numerous reports in the exegeses from Abdullah ibn Abbas and others that on the day of Mubahala, the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) took the hand of Ali, Hasan, and Husayn (peace be upon them) and placed Fatimah (peace be upon her) behind them, and then said: "These are our sons, our very selves, and our women. So bring forth your selves, your sons, and your women, and then let us supplicate together, and may the curse of Allah be upon the liars."

4773 - Ja'far ibn Muhammad ibn Nasir al-Khaldi narrated to me in Baghdad, saying: Musa ibn Harun narrated to us, saying: Qutaybah ibn Sa'id narrated to us, saying: Hatim ibn Isma'il narrated to us, from Bakir ibn Mismar from 'Amir ibn Sa'd from his father, who said: When this verse was revealed: { دعوا أبناءنا وأبناءكم ونساءنا ونساءكم وأنفسنا وأنفسكم }(Ali Imran 3:61), the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) called Ali, Fatimah, Hasan, and Husayn (peace be upon them) and said: O Allah, these are my family. This is a sound hadith, meeting the criteria of the Two Sheikh's, and they did not record it.
