- .... Al-Hakim narrated and classified it as sahih, as did Ibn Marduyah and Abu Na'im in al-Dala'il, from Jabir, who said: Al-Aqib and al-Sayyid came to the Prophet (peace be upon him and his holy progeny). He called them to Islam, and they said, "We have converted, O Muhammad." He replied, "You are lying. If you wish, I can tell you what will prevent you from embracing Islam." They said, "Then tell us." He said, "Love of the cross, drinking wine, and eating the flesh of pigs." Jabir continued: He then invited them to a mutual curse (mubahala), and they promised to meet the next day. The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) went in the morning, taking the hands of Ali, Fatimah, Hasan, and Husayn, and then sent for them. However, they refused to respond and acknowledged him. He said, "By the One who sent me with the truth, if they had acted, the valley would have rained fire upon them." Jabir said regarding them: (This is where the following was revealed): (Come, let us call our sons and your sons) (Surah Aal Imran 3:61). Jabir continued: {And our women and your women} (Surah Aal Imran 3:61) was revealed about the Prophet (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) and Ali (peace be upon him), and (our sons) (Surah Aal Imran 3:61) were Hasan and Husayn (peace be upon them), and {our women} (Surah Aal Imran 3:61) was Fatimah (peace be upon her).
