Hadith No: 1
Al-Tabari - Jami' al-Bayan fi Tafsir al-Quran
Surah Aal Imran (3): 61 - Interpretation of His Statement, exalted be He:
{So whoever argues with you about him after what has come to you of knowledge, say, "Come, let us call our sons and your sons, our women and your women, ourselves and yourselves. Then let us pray earnestly and invoke the curse of Allah upon the liars."}

- Ibn Humayd narrated to us, who said: Isa ibn Farqad narrated to us, from Abu al-Jarud from Zayd ibn Ali regarding His statement: {So say, "Come, let us call our sons and your sons" (Aal Imran 3:61)} who said: The Prophet (peace be upon him and his holy progeny), Ali, Fatimah, and Hassan and Hussein, peace be upon them all, were there.

Surah Al-Imran (3): 61 - Statement on the Interpretation of His Words, Mighty and Majestic be He:
{So whoever argues with you about him after [having received] knowledge has come to you, say, "Come, let us call our sons and your sons, our women and your women, and ourselves and yourselves. Then we will implore [Allah] and invoke the curse of Allah upon the liars."}

- Al-Hasan ibn Yahya narrated to us, who said: Abd al-Razzaq narrated to us, who said: Ma'mar narrated to us, from Qatadah regarding His statement: {So whoever argues with you about him after [having received] knowledge has come to you, say, "Come, let us call our sons and your sons, our women and your women, and ourselves and yourselves" (Al-Imran 3:61)}. He said: It has been reported to us that the Prophet of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) went out at night from the people of Najran, and when they saw him go out, they were apprehensive and dispersed, so they returned. Ma'mar said that Qatadah said: When the Prophet (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) intended to go to the people of Najran, he took the hands of Hasan and Husayn (peace be upon them) and said to Fatimah: "Follow us." When the enemies of Allah saw this, they returned.

- Yunus said: Ibn Wahb narrated to us, who said: Ibn Zayd narrated to us, who said: It was said to the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny), "Would you not curse the people with whom you were to contend when you said, 'Our sons and your sons'?" He replied, "Al-Hasan and Al-Husayn (peace be upon them)."

- Muhammad ibn Sinan narrated to me, who said: Abu Bakr al-Hanafi narrated to us, who said: Al-Mundhir ibn Tha'labah narrated to us, who said: Al-'Alba ibn Ahmar al-Yashkuri narrated to us, who said: When this verse was revealed: {So say, "Come, let us call our sons and your sons, our women and your women, ourselves and yourselves" (Surah Al-Imran 3:61)} the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) sent for Ali, Fatimah, and their two sons, Hasan and Husayn (peace be upon them), and invited the Jews to engage in a mutual curse with them. Then a young man from among the Jews said: "Woe to you! Was it not just yesterday that your brothers were turned into monkeys and pigs? Do not engage in a mutual curse"; and they stopped.

Mentioning what was narrated about it: When His statement, the Almighty, was revealed: "Say, 'Come, let us call our sons and your sons'" (Surah Al-Imran 3:61)

- .... {So say, 'Come, let us call our sons and your sons' (Surah Al-Imran 3:61)} The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) called these four, according to Ibn Sa'id (may Allah be pleased with him), when this verse was revealed: {So say, 'Come, let us call our sons and your sons' (Surah Al-Imran 3:61)} The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) called Ali, Fatimah, Hasan, and Husayn (peace be upon them) and said: 'O Allah, these are my family.' This was narrated by Muslim and al-Tirmidhi.

2634 - Ubaydullah ibn Ahmad said: Al-Husayn ibn Yahya narrated to me, saying: Al-Hasan ibn Muhammad ibn al-Sabbah narrated to me, saying: Qutaybah narrated to me, saying: Hatim ibn Isma'il narrated to me, from Bakir ibn Mismar from Amir ibn Sa'd ibn Abi Waqqas from his father, who said: .... And when this verse was revealed: {So say, "Come, let us call our sons and your sons" (Al-Imran 3:61)} the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) called Ali, Fatimah, Hasan, and Husayn, peace be upon them, and said: "O Allah, these are my family." Muslim narrated it from Qutaybah.
