1 - .... Muslim narrated in his Sahih 15 / 176 that when the verse of Allah, the Exalted, descended: {So whoever argues with you about him after the knowledge that has come to you, say, "Come, let us call our sons and your sons, our women and your women, ourselves and yourselves, then let us pray earnestly and invoke the curse of Allah upon the liars" (Surah Al-Imran 3:61)} the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) called Ali, Fatimah, Hasan, and Husayn (peace be upon them) and said: "O Allah, these are my family."
2 - .... Al-Qadi Iyad narrated in Al-Shifa from Sa'd ibn Abi Waqqas, who said: When the verse of Mubahala was revealed, the Prophet (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) called Ali, Hasan, Husayn, and Fatimah (peace be upon them) and said: "O Allah, these are my family."
3 - .... Ibn Kathir mentioned in his Tafsir that Abu Bakr ibn Mardawayh said from Jabir: The representatives Al-Aqib and Al-Tayyib from the Christian delegation of Najran came to the Prophet (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) and he invited them to Mubahala, promising them that he would meet them to invoke divine malediction the next morning. Then the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) arose the next day, took Ali's (peace be upon him) hand, and said: "By the One who sent me with the truth, if they had asked for fire to rain down upon them in the valley, I would have done so." Jabir said: The following verse was revealed concerning them: {So say, "Come, let us call our sons and your sons, our women and your women, ourselves and yourselves" (Surah Al-Imran 3:61).

- .... Yahya said: I do not claim that, but the one who says it is right. Al-Hajjaj said: And what right is that? Yahya said: The Book of Allah spoke of this. Al-Hajjaj replied: Perhaps you mean His statement: {So whoever argues with you about him after what has come to you of knowledge, say, "Come, let us call our sons and your sons, our women and your women, ourselves and yourselves. Then we will implore Allah's curse upon the liars" (Surah Al-Imran 3:61)} And that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) went out for the Mubahala (mutual imprecation) with him were Ali, Hassan, Hussein, and Fatimah (peace be upon them all), Yahya said: And indeed, it is, by Allah, a significant argument, but even so, I will not use it as an argument. Al-Hajjaj said: If you bring another from the Book of Allah, you will receive ten thousand dirhams, and if not, I will kill you.

- .... There are no specific verses in the Holy Quran about Sayyida Fatimah al-Zahra (peace be upon her), but she is included in what was revealed from the Book of Allah that is specifically about the pure and purified Ahl al-Bayt. Among these is the verse of Mubahala. Muslim narrated that when the verse was revealed: {So say, "Come, let us call our sons and your sons, our women and your women, ourselves and yourselves. Then we will pray earnestly and invoke the curse of Allah upon the liars" (Surah Al-Imran 3:61)} the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) called Ali, Fatimah, Hassan, and Hussein (peace be upon them all) and said: "O Allah, these are my family." This verse of Mubahala, by the consensus of Muslims across various denominations, was revealed only concerning the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny), his daughter al-Zahra (peace be upon her), his cousin Imam Ali (peace be upon him), and his grandsons Hassan and Hussein (peace be upon them).
