8119 - Zakariya ibn Yahya narrated to us, who said: Ishaq narrated to us, who said: Jarir narrated to me from Abu Hayyan al-Tamimi, Yahya ibn Sa'id ibn Hayyan, from Yazid ibn Hayyan, who said: I went with Husayn ibn Sumrah ibn Umar ibn Muslim to Zayd ibn Arqam, and we seated ourselves with him. Husayn said: O Zayd, narrate to us what you heard from the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) and what you witnessed with him. He said: The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) stood by a place called Khumm and praised Allah, extolled Him, gave counsel, and reminded [the people], and then said: "Afterward, O people, I am but a human being, it is soon expected that a Messenger from my Lord will come to me, and I shall answer him and I am leaving among you the two precious things, the first of which is the Book of Allah, which contains guidance and light. Whoever holds fast to it and acts by it will be guided, and whoever neglects it or turns away from it will be in misguidance. I remind you of Allah regarding my Ahl al-Bayt three times," Husayn said: Who are my Ahl al-Bayt, O Zayd? Are not his women part of his Ahl al-Bayt? He said: Yes, his women are part of his Ahl al-Bayt, but the Ahl al-Bayt of his household are those from whom charity is forbidden. He was asked: Who are they? He replied: The family of Ali, the family of Aqil, the family of Ja'far, and the family of Abbas.

Book of al-Khasa'is - Chapter on the Prophet's (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) statement: "Whoever I am his Mawla, Ali is his Mawla"
Volume: (7) - Page Number: (437)
8410 - Muhammad ibn al-Muthanna narrated to us, who said: Yahya ibn Hammad narrated to me, who said: Abu 'Awaneq narrated to us, from Sulayman, who said: Habib ibn Abi Thabit narrated to us, from Abu al-Tufayl from Zayd ibn Arqam, who said: "When the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) returned from the Farewell Pilgrimage and descended at Ghadir Khumm, he ordered that trees be gathered, and then he said: 'It seems that I have been summoned, and I have answered. I have left among you two heavy things, one of which is greater than the other: the Book of Allah and my Ahl al-Bayt, my family. So look at how you will treat me in both of these, for they will not separate until they come to me at the Pond (of Khumm).' Then he said: 'Indeed, Allah is my Mawla, and I am the Mawla of every believer.'" Then he took Ali's hand and said: "Whoever I am his Mawla, Ali is his Mawla. O Allah, be supportive of one who supports him and be hostile to one who is hostile to him." I said to Zayd: "Did you hear this from the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny)?" He replied: "There was no one in the trees who did not see it with his own eyes and hear it with his own ears."
