- .... Muhammad said: Alī ibn al-Munthir al-Kūfi narrated to us, saying: Muhammad ibn Fadl narrated to us, mentioning that al-A'mash narrated to us from Atiyyah, from Abu Sa'id, and al-A'mash from Habib ibn Abi Thabit from Zayd ibn Arqam, who said: The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) said: "I am leaving among you that which, if you hold fast to it, you will not go astray; one of them is greater than the other: the Book of Allah, a rope extended from the heaven to the earth, and my Ahl al-Bayt. They will not separate until they return to me at the Pond. So, look how you will respond to me concerning both of them."

- .... 'Itr: It is stated in it: "I am leaving among you the two precious things, the Book of Allah and My 'Itrah." The 'Itrah of a man refers to his closest relatives, and the 'Itrah of the Prophet (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) is the Banu Abdul Muttalib. It is said that they are his nearest family, namely, his children, Ali, and his children. Others say that his 'Itrah includes both the closest and the more distant relatives.
