Chapter on Clarifying the Difficulties of What was Narrated from the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) in His Statements
on the Day of Ghadir Khumm to Ali (peace be upon him): "Whoever I am his Mawla, Ali is his Mawla."
Volume: (5) - Page Number: (18)
1765 - As Ahmad ibn Shu'aib narrated to us, he said: Muhammad ibn al-Muthanna informed us, he said: Yahya ibn Hammad narrated to us, he said: Abu 'Awaneq narrated to us, from Sulayman, meaning al-A'mash, who said: Habib ibn Abi Thabit narrated to us, from Abu al-Tufayl, from Zayd ibn Arqam, who said: When the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) returned from the Farewell Pilgrimage and descended at Ghadir Khumm, he commanded that canopies be erected. Then he said: "It seems that I have been summoned, and I have answered. I have indeed left among you two heavy things, one of which is greater than the other: the Book of Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, and my family, my Ahlul Bayt. So look at how you will treat me regarding them, for they will not separate until they return to me at the Pond." Then he said: "Indeed, Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, is my Mawla, and I am the Mawla of every believer." Then he took Ali's (peace be upon him) hand and said: "Whoever accepts him as his Mawla, this is his Mawla. O Allah, be an ally of one who allies with him and be an enemy to one who opposes him." I said to Zayd: "Did you hear this from the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny)?" He said: "There was no one under the canopies who did not see it with his own eyes and hear it with his own ears." Abu Ja'far said: "This narration has a correct chain of transmission, and no one can cast doubt on any of its narrators. It indicates that this statement from the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) to Ali at Ghadir Khumm was during his return from the pilgrimage to Medina, not at his departure for the pilgrimage from Medina." Then this speaker said: "Indeed, this narration has been reported from Sa'd ibn Abi Waqqas in this story, and that this statement was only from the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) at Ghadir Khumm during his departure from Medina to the pilgrimage, not in his return from the pilgrimage to Medina."

Chapter on Clarifying the Difficulties of What Was Narrated from the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) Regarding the Six Who Were Cursed
And Among Them is the One Who Dominates with Tyranny
Volume: (9) - Page Number: (88)
3463 - What has been narrated to us: Fahd ibn Sulayman said: Abu Ghassan Malik ibn Ismail al-Nahdi narrated to us, saying: Israel ibn Yunus narrated to us, from Uthman ibn al-Mughira, from Ali ibn Rabeea al-Asadi, who said: I met Zayd ibn al-Arqam as he was entering or exiting from al-Mukhtar, and I said: What is this report that has reached me from you that you heard the Prophet (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) say: "I am leaving among you two heavy things, the Book of Allah and my Ahlulbayt"? He said: Yes.

Chapter on Clarifying the Ambiguity of What Was Narrated from the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) Regarding the Six Who Were Cursed
And Among Them Was Included the One Who Acts with Tyranny
Volume: (9) - Page Number: (89)
3464 - And what Ibn Abi Dawud has narrated to us: He said: Muhammad ibn Abdullah ibn Numayr al-Hamdani narrated to us, saying: Muhammad ibn Fadl ibn Ghazwan narrated to us, saying: Abu Hayyan Yahya ibn Sa'id ibn Hayyan al-Taimi narrated to us from Yazid ibn Hayyan, who said: Husayn ibn Uqbah and I went to Zayd ibn Arqam, and Husayn said to him: "Indeed, Allah has honored you, O Zayd. You have seen much good; you saw the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) and fought alongside him, and you heard from him. You have certainly received much good, O Zayd. So tell us what you heard from the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny)." Zayd replied: "The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) stood up among us at a place called Khum, between Mecca and Medina, with water in his hands. He praised Allah, Exalted and Majestic be He, and thanked Him, and then he mentioned, saying: 'Indeed, I am only waiting for a messenger to come to me from my Lord, Exalted be He, and I will respond.' And I am leaving behind in you the two precious things, the Book of Allah, Exalted and Majestic be He, in which is guidance and light. So hold firmly to the Book of Allah, Exalted and Majestic be He, and take from it.'" He encouraged reverence for the Book of Allah, Exalted and Majestic be He, and urged it, and then he said: "And I remind you, Allah, Exalted and Majestic be He, of my Ahlulbayt.'" Abu Ja'far said: We sought to find others who narrated from Yazid ibn Hayyan besides Abu Hayyan al-Taimi, so that it could be established that someone other than Abu Hayyan, who is similar to him in justice, had narrated from him, indicating that two just individuals had transmitted from him, and we found that al-A'mash had narrated from him.
