- .... Ibn Jarir narrated from Yazid ibn Habban from Zayd ibn Arqam (may Allah be pleased with him) who said: The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) stood as a speaker at a place called Haimah between Mecca and Medina, and he praised Allah, extolled Him, delivered a sermon, and reminded the people, then said: "O people, I am waiting for my Lord's Messenger to come to me, and I will respond
and I am leaving among you the two precious things, one of them is the Book of Allah, which contains guidance and truth, so hold firmly to the Book of Allah. Then he said: And my Ahlul Bayt, I remind you of Allah regarding my Ahlul Bayt three times." Zayd was asked, "Who are his Ahlul Bayt? Are not his wives part of his Ahlul Bayt?" Zayd replied, "His wives are part of his Ahlul Bayt, but the Ahlul Bayt are those who are forbidden to receive charity after him." It was asked, "Who are they?" He said, "They are the family of Abbas, the family of Jafar, and the family of Aqil." It was said, "Do all these people prohibit charity?" He said, "Yes."
- .... It was also narrated from him with the wording: "I am only a human being, or it is possible that I will be summoned and I will respond
but I am leaving among you the two precious things, one of which is the Book of Allah, a rope extended; whoever follows it will be guided, and whoever neglects it will be in misguidance. And my Ahlul Bayt: I remind you of Allah regarding my Ahlul Bayt three times." It was also narrated from him with the wording:
"I urge you by Allah concerning my Ahlul Bayt twice."
