3900 - Amr ibn Ali and al-Jarrah ibn Makhlad and Muhammad ibn Ma'mar narrated to us, and the wording is from Amr, who said: Muslim ibn Ibrahim narrated to us, saying: al-Hasan ibn Abi Ja'far narrated to us, from Ali ibn Zayd, from Sa'id ibn al-Musayyib from Abu Dharr (ra), who said: the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) said:"The example of the people of my House is like the example of Noah's Ark. Whoever joins them will be saved, and whoever lags behind them will drown." And whoever fights us in the last days will be like one who fights with the Antichrist." We do not know of anyone narrating this statement from the Prophet (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) except Abu Dharr from this source, nor do we know of anyone following al-Hasan ibn Abi Ja'far in this hadith.

2442 - "Indeed, the example of the people of my Household, Fatimah and Ali, and their two sons and their descendants, is like the example of the Ark of Noah. Whoever embarks on it will be saved, and whoever lags behind it will perish." The reason for this comparison is that salvation was guaranteed for the people of the Ark among the people of Noah, so the Chosen One (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) affirmed for his ummah, through holding onto the Ahl al-Bayt, the promise of salvation. He made them a means to it and a manifestation of it, encouraging attachment to their love, their guidance, and their immense respect as a way of thanking the blessing. Al-Mulla narrated this in his biography.
