221 - Text: Al-Husayn ibn Ali from Harun ibn Musa from Muhammad ibn Isma'il al-Fuzari from Abdullah ibn al-Salih, the scribe of al-Layth, from Rushd ibn Sa'd, from al-Husayn ibn Yusuf al-Ansari, from Sahal ibn Sa'd al-Ansari, who said: I asked Fatimah, the daughter of the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny), about the Imams, and she said: The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) used to say to Ali (peace be upon him):
"O Ali, you are the Imam and Caliph after me, and you are more deserving of the believers than themselves." And when I am gone, your son
al-Hasan will be more deserving of the believers than themselves, and when al-Hasan is gone,
al-Husayn will be more deserving of the believers than themselves. When al-Husayn is gone, his son
Ali ibn al-Husayn will be more deserving of the believers than themselves, and when Ali is gone, his son
Muhammad will be more deserving of the believers than themselves. When Muhammad is gone, his son Ja'far will be more deserving of the believers than themselves, and when Ja'far is gone, his son
Musa will be more deserving of the believers than themselves. When Musa is gone, his son
Ali will be more deserving of the believers than themselves, and when Ali is gone, his son
Muhammad will be more deserving of the believers than themselves. When Muhammad is gone, his son
Ali will be more deserving of the believers than themselves, and when Ali is gone, his son
al-Hasan will be more deserving of the believers than themselves. When al-Hasan is gone, the Qaim
al-Mahdi will be more deserving of the believers than themselves; Allah will open through him the east and west of the earth. They are the Imams of truth and the sunni of sincerity, aided is whoever aids them, and failed is whoever fails them.
