- .... I came across some of his higher narrations: I read to Abi al-Ma'ali Ahmad ibn Ishaq al-Abrqa, and he informed you: Al-Fath ibn Abd al-Salam in Baghdad informed us: Hibatullah ibn al-Husayn informed us: Ahmad ibn Muhammad al-Bazzaz narrated to us: Isa ibn Ali al-Wazir, during a session in the year 389 AH, narrated to us: Abu al-Qasim Abdullah ibn Muhammad, during a session, narrated to us: Ibn al-Ja'd informed us: Zuhayr, from Samak and Ziyad ibn Alaqa and Husayn, all from Jabir ibn Samura, that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) said: "There will be twelve leaders after me," then he spoke of something I did not understand, and some said in his narration: I asked my father, and some said I asked the people, and they all said: "They are all from Quraysh."

- Abu al-Ma'ali Ahmad ibn Ishaq in Egypt narrated to us, saying: Al-Fath ibn Abdullah al-Katib narrated to us, saying: Hibatullah ibn Abi Sharik narrated to us, saying: Abu al-Husayn Ahmad ibn Muhammad ibn al-Naqur narrated, from his father, who said: Isa ibn Ali, the minister, narrated to us by dictation, saying: Abu al-Qasim al-Baghawi narrated to us, saying: Ibn al-Ja'd narrated to us, Zuhayr, he is the son of Mu'awiya, narrated to us from Samak and Ziyad ibn Alaqa and Husayn, all of them from Jabir ibn Samura (رضي الله عنه): that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) said, "There will be after me twelve leaders." Then he spoke about something which I did not understand, so I asked my father, and some said in his narration: I asked the people and they said, "He said all of them are from Quraysh." This is an authentic hadith from the elevated chains (al-'Awali) to us and to the owner of the biography.
