804 - Abu Dawood narrated to us, he said: Hammad ibn Salamah narrated to us, from Samaak, who said: I heard Jabir ibn Samurah say: I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) delivering a sermon, and he was saying: "Islam will continue to be powerful until there have been twelve caliphs." Then he said a word that I did not understand, so I said to my father: What did the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) say? He replied: "All of them will be from Quraysh."

1374 - Abu Dawud narrated to us, saying: Hammad ibn Salamah narrated to us from Samak ibn Harb, who said: I heard Jabir ibn Samurah say: I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) delivering a sermon and saying: "Beware, Islam will continue to be esteemed until there have been twelve caliphs." He then said something I did not understand, so I said to my father: What did he say? He replied: "All of them are from Quraysh."
