Volume: (4) - Page Number: (333)
- Abu Ishaq ibn Hamza and Sulayman ibn Ahmad and Muhammad ibn Ali ibn Habish narrated to us, saying: Al-Qasim ibn Zakariya al-Maqri narrated to us, saying: Muhammad ibn Abdul Halim al-Nisayburi narrated to us, saying: Mubashshir ibn Abdullah narrated to us, from Sufyan ibn Husayn, from Sa'id ibn Amr ibn Ashwa', from al-Shabi from Jabir ibn Samurah, who said: "I came with my father to the mosque while the Prophet (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) was delivering a sermon." He said: "I heard him say, 'There will be twelve caliphs after me,' then he lowered his voice, and I did not understand what he was saying. So I said to my father, 'What is he saying?' He replied, 'All of them are from Quraysh.'" Umar ibn Abdullah ibn Ruzayn narrated something similar from Sufyan, which is strange from the narration of Sa'id, unique to Sufyan. Several others narrated from al-Shabi, including: Qatadah, Dawud ibn Abi Hind, Abdullah ibn Aun, Mughirah, Mujalid, Husayn, Imran ibn Sulayman al-Qaisi, and Dawud al-Awdi.
