Abu Khaythama said: People are saying "to his family," and he said this "to my family." Abu Ya'la narrated it, and its narrators are trustworthy.

5410 - Abu Abdillah Muhammad ibn Ya'qub al-Hafiz narrated to us, saying: Ibrahim ibn Abdullah narrated to us, saying: Quraish ibn Anas narrated to us, from Muhammad ibn Umar and from Abu Salamah from Abu Huraira, who said: The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) said: "The best of you is the best to my family after me." Then Muhammad ibn Amr told me from Abu Salamah ibn Abdul Rahman that his father bequeathed to the Mothers of the Believers a garden that was sold after him for forty thousand dinars. This is a sahih (authentic) hadith according to the criteria of Muslim, although they did not record it, and it has a true witness (shahid) that is sahih according to the criteria of both Shaykhain.

4105 - "The best of you is the best of you to my family after me," meaning the best of you, O companions, is the best of you to my family, my wives, relatives, and children after my death. Most of the companions accepted his advice, so they treated them with honor and respect. However, some acted contrary to that, causing them harm and humiliating them (as narrated from Abu Huraira). This was also narrated by Abu Ya'la, Abu Nu'aim, and al-Dailami, and their men are trustworthy, but its narrator deviated with his wording "to my family," while all (other narrators) only mentioned "to his family." Ibn Abi Khaythuma noted this.
