The progeny of Muhammad (peace be on him and his progeny) do not accept Sadaqah (charity)

Hadith No: 1

Narrated Abu Huraira:

Dates used to be brought to Allah's Messenger (s.a.w.a.) immediately after being plucked. Different persons would bring their dates till a big heap collected (in front of the Prophet). Once Al-Hasan and Al-Husain were playing with these dates. One of them took a date and put it in his mouth. Allah's Messenger (s.a.w.a.) looked at him and took it out from his mouth and said, "Don't you know that Muhammad's offspring do not eat what is given in charity?"

6580 - Abdullah ibn Muhammad ibn Ja'far narrated to us from his own source, who said: Muhammad ibn Ibrahim ibn Sa'id narrated to us, Talut ibn Abbas narrated to us, Hammad ibn Salamah narrated to us, from Ata ibn al-Sa'ib, who said: A man from the people of Kufa entrusted me with his inheritance and claimed that he was a freedman of the family of Ali ibn Abi Talib. So I went to Medina and visited Muhammad ibn Ali, and I mentioned him to him. He said: "I do not know him, although we have captives, so do not hand him over to them." Then he directed me to Umm Kulthum, the daughter of Ali. I entered upon her, and she was an old woman on a bed. I mentioned it to her, and she said: "I do not know him, although a freedman of ours is called Kaysan or Hormuz who told me that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) said to him: 'O Hormuz' or he said: 'O Kaysan, the family of Muhammad does not eat from charity,' and that a freedman of the people is one of themselves, and you are, so do not eat from it." She said: "Return this money and distribute it in the land where he died." Al-Thawri, Hammad ibn Zayd, and Warqa narrated a similar account from Ata.
