485 - Ahmad narrated to us, Quthna narrated to us, Suwayd ibn Sa'id narrated to us, al-Walid ibn Muhammad al-Mawquri narrated to us from al-Zuhri, who said: Al-Qasim ibn Muhammad told me that Asma bint Yazid informed him that a man from the muhajirin (emigrants) entered upon Abu Bakr when he was ill with the pain from which he would soon die. The man said: "O Abu Bakr, I remind you of Allah and the Day of Resurrection,
for you have appointed a man over the people who is harsh and stern, who will intimidate the people without any authority, and Allah will question you about this." Abu Bakr replied: "Help me up," so they helped him up, and he said: "Are you threatening me with Allah? I say, 'O Allah, I have appointed for them the best of them.'"
