4 - Waki' narrated to us, saying: Israel said, Abu Ishaq said, from Zayd ibn Yath'i, from Abu Bakr, that the Prophet (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) sent him with Surah At-Tawbah (Chapter 9) to the people of Mecca, stating that after this year, no polytheist should perform Hajj or circumambulate the House naked, and no one should enter Paradise except for a submissive soul. Whoever is between him and the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) has a specified time, so Allah will grant him an extension until his time. And Allah is free of the polytheists, and so is His Messenger. He said: So he traveled with this for three days then said to Ali (peace be upon him): Catch up to him and bring it back to Abu Bakr, and you deliver it. Ali (peace be upon him) did so. He said: When Abu Bakr returned to the Prophet (peace be upon him and his holy progeny), he was weeping and said: O Messenger of Allah, did something change? The Prophet replied: Nothing happened regarding you except good, but I was commanded that none should receive this except me or a man from me.

After the four months have passed, Allah and His Messenger are free from the polytheists, and no polytheist will perform pilgrimage to this House after this year.
