from Muharrir ibn Abi Hurayrah, from his father, who said: "I was the mu'adhdhin (caller to prayer) for Ali ibn Abi Talib when the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) sent him with Baqarah to the people of Mecca." He said: I called out until my voice became hoarse. He said: What did you call them with? And whoever has a covenant with the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny), his term is four months: When the four months are over, then Allah is free of the polytheists and so is His Messenger."
