- .... He said in al-Riyad al-Nadira: His Islam was akin to revelation because he was a merchant in Syria and saw a dream, which he narrated to Bahira the monk. Bahira said to him: "What people are you from?" He replied: "From Mecca." Bahira asked: "From which part of Mecca?" He answered: "From Quraysh." Bahira said: "If Allah fulfills your dream, He will send a prophet from your people who will be a minister to him in his life and his successor after his death." Abu Bakr kept this to himself, and when the Prophet (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) was sent, Abu Bakr (r) came to him and said: "O Muhammad, what is the proof of what you claim?" The Prophet replied: "The dream you saw in Syria before him, between his eyes." And he said, "I bear witness that there is no deity but Allah, and I bear witness that you are the Messenger of Allah."
- And from the Prophet (peace be upon him and his holy progeny): "Allah did not pour anything into my heart except that I poured it into the heart of Abu Bakr."
- And from Anas (r) from the Prophet (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) who said: "The love of Abu Bakr is obligatory upon my Ummah."
- And from Umar (r) from the Prophet (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) who said: "On the night that Abu Bakr was born, your Lord manifested Himself over the Garden of Eden and said: 'By My majesty and glory, I will not enter you except with those who love this newborn.'"
- Jabir ibn Abdullah said: "We were with the Prophet (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) when he said: 'A man will appear before you whom Allah has not created after me anyone better than him or more virtuous, and he will have a intercession like the intercessions of the prophets.'" Then Abu Bakr appeared, and the Prophet went to him and kissed him.
- And Ali said: The Prophet (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) said: "A caller will announce, 'Where are the foremost of the foremost?'" It will be said: "Who?" It will be replied: "Abu Bakr," and Allah will manifest Himself to him specifically and to the people generally.
- Anas (r) said: "The Prophet (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) and Gabriel met in the highest assembly, and he said: 'O Gabriel, will my Ummah be held accountable?'" Gabriel replied: "Yes, except for Abu Bakr. It will be said to him: 'O Abu Bakr, enter Paradise.'" He will say: "I will not enter until those who loved me in the world enter."
- And Umar said: "I wish I were a hair on the chest of Abu Bakr," and he also said: "I wish all my deeds were from the deeds of Abu Bakr for one day," and he said: "I wish to see the stations of Abu Bakr in Paradise."
- And Hudhayfa (r) said: The Prophet (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) prayed the Fajr prayer, and when he finished, he said: "Where is Abu Bakr?" He replied: "Here I am, O Messenger of Allah." The Prophet said: "Did you catch the first rak'ah with me?" He answered: "I was with you in the first row, but something whispered to me about purification." So I went out to the mosque door, and a voice called me, 'O Abu Bakr.' I turned and saw a vessel of gold containing water whiter than snow and sweeter than anything, with a handkerchief on it inscribed: 'There is no deity but Allah, Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah, Abu Bakr al-Siddiq.' So I performed ablution and then placed the handkerchief back in its place." The Prophet (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) then said: "O Abu Bakr, when you finished reading, you took my knees but could not bend for rukū' until you came, and it was Gabriel who purified you, and the one with the handkerchief was Michael, and the one who held your knees was Israfil."
- And I saw in the narration that the angels gathered under the tree of Tawba, and one angel said: "I wish Allah, the Exalted, would give me the strength of a thousand angels and dress me in the feathers of a thousand birds, so I could fly around Paradise until I reach its edge." Allah granted him this, and he flew for a thousand years until his strength was gone and his feathers fell. Then Allah gave him strength and wings again, and he flew for another thousand years until his strength was gone and his feathers fell, and he landed at the gate of a palace, weeping. A hora (beautiful maid of Paradise) looked out and said: "O angel, what is it with you? I see you weeping, and this is not a place of weeping and sadness, but a place of joy and happiness." He replied: "Because I opposed Allah in His might and then He informed me with His words." She said to him: "You have risked yourself. Do you know how long you have flown in these three thousand years?" He said: "No." She replied: "By the might of my Lord, you did not fly more than a single part of ten thousand parts of what Allah, the Exalted, has prepared for Abu Bakr al-Siddiq (r)."
- And the Prophet (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) said: "I was shown everything on the night of the Isra and Mi'raj, even the sun. Indeed, I greeted it and asked it about its eclipse, and Allah, the Exalted, made it speak. It said: 'Allah has placed me on a wheel that draws me wherever He wishes, and I look at myself with eyes of wonder. But when I am in haste, I may fall into the sea.'" And I see two figures, one saying, 'One, One,' and the other saying, 'Truth, Truth.' I will intercede with them to Allah, the Exalted, and He will save me from the eclipse.' I will say: 'O Lord, who are they?' He will reply: 'The One, One, is my beloved Muhammad, and the one who says, 'Truth, Truth,' is Abu Bakr al-Siddiq (r).'"

Volume: (2) - Page Number: (148/149)
[The text is lengthy, so only the relevant excerpt is provided here]
- .... In Uyoon al-Majalis, it is narrated from the Prophet (s.a.w.a.) that he said: "O Aisha, should I not grant you a gift, something I love?" She replied, "Yes, O Prophet of Allah." He said, "The name of your father is written on the heart of the sun, and the sun faces the Kaaba every day, but it will refuse to cross over it. The angel assigned will admonish it, saying, 'By the One of that name, you shall cross,' and it will then cross."
- And he (s) said: "I saw in the night of Israa' in every heaven an angel in the form of Abu Bakr. I said, 'O Lord, may I ascend with Abu Bakr?' He replied, 'No, but out of my love for him, I have created an angel in every heaven in his image.'"
- And in al-Riyadh al-Nadira fi Manaqib al-‘Ashara: It is mentioned that Abu Bakr looked at Ali ibn Abi Talib and then smiled, saying, "I heard the Messenger of Allah say that no one will cross the Sirat except those for whom it is written by Ali ibn Abi Talib." And I heard him say: "Nor will the writing of passage be given except to those who love Abu Bakr."
- And I see in his statement, the Almighty تعالى:{ Indeed, I am your Lord, so remove your sandals; you are in the sacred valley, Tuwa } (Ta-Ha 20:12) that the dust was created from which the body of Abu Bakr (r) was formed.
- Anas ibn Malik, the servant of the Prophet (s.a.w.a.) and his cousin through suckling, said: His mother was Umm Sulaym, whose name was Sahla. A woman from the Ansar came and said, "O Messenger of Allah, I saw in a dream that the palm tree in my home had fallen, and my husband is traveling." She said, "You must be patient, for you will not reunite with him except on the Day of Judgment." The woman left, weeping, and saw Abu Bakr. She told him about her dream but did not mention the Prophet's words to him. He said to her, "Go, for you will reunite with him this night." She entered her home, contemplating the words of the Prophet and those of Abu Bakr. When night came, her husband arrived. She went to the Prophet and informed him about her husband. He looked at her for a long time, then Gabriel came and said, "O Muhammad, what you said is true, but when the Siddiq said you would reunite with him this night, Allah felt too shy to let it happen, as it was on his lips, because he is a Siddiq. So, He revived him as a testament to him."
- In al-Riyadh al-Nadira, it is narrated from the Prophet: that Allah dislikes in the heavens for Abu Bakr to be wronged.
- And al-Nasafi mentioned that a man died in Medina, and the Prophet wanted to pray over him. Gabriel descended and said, "O Muhammad, do not pray over him," so he refrained. Then Abu Bakr came to him and said, "O Prophet of Allah, pray over him. I did not know anything except good from him." Gabriel then descended and said, "O Muhammad, pray over him, for the testimony of Abu Bakr takes precedence over my testimony."
- Jabir ibn Abdullah said: The Prophet (s.a.w.a.) said, "Angels will meet with Abu Bakr al-Siddiq and escort him to Paradise."
- Umar said: The Prophet (s.a.w.a.) stated, "In Paradise, there are maidens created by Allah from roses, called Al-Wurdayat. None will marry them except a Prophet, a Siddiq, or a martyr, and Abu Bakr has four hundred of them."
- And I saw in al-Tafsir al-Razi that the Prophet (s.a.w.a.) gave his ring to Abu Bakr and said, "Write on it, 'There is no god but Allah.'" Abu Bakr handed it to the engraver and said, "Write on it, 'There is no god but Allah, Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah.'" He wrote it, and when Abu Bakr brought it back to the Prophet (s.a.w.a.), he found it inscribed with "There is no god but Allah, Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah, Abu Bakr al-Siddiq." He said, "What is this addition, O Abu Bakr?" Abu Bakr replied, "I did not feel pleased to separate your name from the name of Allah, and regarding the rest, it is what you said." Then Gabriel descended and said, "Allah, the Most Glorified and Exalted, says: I have written the name of Abu Bakr because he did not want to separate your name from Mine, and I do not wish to separate His name from yours."
- Abu Huraira (r) said: The Prophet (s.a.w.a.) stated, "Indeed, Allah has a knowledge of light, inscribed with 'There is no god but Allah, Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah, Abu Bakr al-Siddiq.'"
- Hudhayfa (r) said: The Prophet prepared food and invited his companions, feeding them with his own hand. He gave them a morsel and said, "The leader of the people is their servant," and he fed Abu Bakr three morsels. Al-Abbas asked him about this, and he said, "When I fed him the first morsel, Gabriel said, 'Blessed be you, O Ateeq.' When I fed him the second morsel, Mikail said, 'Blessed be you, O Rafiq.' When I fed him the third morsel, the Lord of Might said, 'Blessed be you, O Siddiq.'"

- Al-Hasan ibn Ali al-Tamimi narrated to us, saying: Ahmad ibn Ja'far ibn Hamdan narrated to us, saying: Abdullah ibn Ahmad ibn Hanbal narrated to us, saying: My father narrated to us, saying: al-Hudhail ibn Maymun al-Kufi al-Ju'fi narrated to us, he used to sit in the mosque of the city, meaning the city of Abu Ja'far. Abdullah said: This is an old شيخ (shaykh) from Marṭar ibn Yazid, from Ubaydullah ibn Zahhr, from Ali ibn Yazid, from al-Qasim, from Abu Umamah, who said: The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) said, "I entered Paradise and heard a rustling in front of me. I said, 'What is this?' He said, 'Bilal.' So I went on, and I saw that most of the people in Paradise were the poor among the emigrants (Muhajirun) and the descendants of the Muslims, and I did not see anyone in it fewer than the rich and women." It was said to me, "As for the rich, they are here at the door being held to account and purified, and as for the women, the two red things, gold and silk, are distracting them." Then he said, "We exited from one of the eight gates of Paradise and when I was at the door, I was brought to a scale and placed in it, and my community was placed in another scale, and it outweighed it. Then Abu Bakr was brought and placed in a scale, and all of my community was brought and placed, and Abu Bakr outweighed them."....

- .... And it was as if the matter of vision was significant to the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) and his companions. It was narrated from Safinah who said: The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) would turn to his companions after praying the Fajr prayer and say: "Which of you saw a vision last night?" One day, he said this and a man replied: "I, O Messenger of Allah. I saw as if a scale was lowered from the heavens, and I was placed in one side of the scale, while Abu Bakr was placed in the other side, and my side weighed heavier than Abu Bakr." Then it was lifted, leaving Abu Bakr. Then Umar was brought and placed in the other side, and Abu Bakr was weighed heavier than Umar. Then Abu Bakr was lifted, leaving Umar, until Uthman was brought and placed in the other side, and Umar was weighed heavier than Uthman. Then the scale was raised ....

- .... from Anas ibn Malik, who said: I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) say: Gabriel informed me that when Allah, the Exalted, created Adam and breathed the spirit into his body, He commanded me to take an apple from Paradise and squeeze it into his throat. So, I squeezed it into his mouth, and Allah created you from the first drop, you, O Muhammad, from the second, Abu Bakr, from the third, Umar, from the fourth, Uthman, and from the fifth, Ali. Adam then said: Who are these that You have honored? Allah, the Exalted, replied: These are five figures from your descendants. He said: These are more honored in My sight than all My creation. Then, when Adam disobeyed his Lord, he said: My Lord, by the dignity of those five figures You have preferred, will You not forgive me? So, Allah turned to him in repentance.

Ibn Abbas said: Abu Bakr was with the Prophet (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) in the cave, and he became extremely thirsty, so he complained to the Prophet (peace be upon him and his holy progeny). The Prophet (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) said to him: "Go to the mouth of the cave and drink." Abu Bakr said: So I went to the mouth of the cave and drank water that was sweeter than honey, whiter than milk, and had a more fragrant scent than musk. Then I returned to the Prophet (peace be upon him and his holy progeny). He said: "Did you drink?" I replied: "Yes." He said: "Shall I not give you good news, O Abu Bakr?" I said: "Yes, O Messenger of Allah." He said: "Indeed, Allah, Blessed and Exalted be He, commanded the angel assigned to the rivers of Paradise to draw forth a river from the Garden of Eternity to the mouth of the cave for Abu Bakr to drink." I said: "O Messenger of Allah, will I have this rank with Allah?" The Prophet (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) said: "Yes, and better, by the One who sent me with the truth as a prophet. No one who bears animosity towards you will enter Paradise, even if he had the deeds of seventy prophets."

Al-Makki al-Obeidi - Umdah al-Tahqiq fi Bashair Aal al-Siddiq
Volume: (1) - Page Number: (184)
- Sheikh Ibrahim al-Obeidi al-Maliki mentioned in his book Umdah al-Tahqiq fi Bashair Aal al-Siddiq, citing from the book al-Aqaqiq and al-Saffuri in: (Nuzhat al-Majalis 2 p. 184), quoting from Uyun al-Majalis, that it was narrated that the Prophet (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) said one day to Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her): "Indeed, when Allah, the Exalted, created the sun, He created it from a white pearl the size of the world, one hundred and forty times, and set it on a wheel. He created eight hundred and sixty tethers for the wheel and made a chain of red ruby in each tether. He commanded sixty thousand of the nearest angels to draw it with those chains using the power that Allah had endowed them with, while the sun was like the cosmos on that wheel, and it was revolving in the green dome, reflecting its beauty upon the inhabitants of the dusty realm. Every day, it would stop at the equator above the Kaaba, for it is the center of the earth, and say: 'O angels of my Lord, I feel shy before Allah, the Almighty, if I reach a position parallel to the Kaaba, which is the qibla of the believers, to pass by it.' The angels would draw the sun to pass over the Kaaba with all their might, but it would not accept them and the angels would be unable to do so. So, Allah, the Exalted, would inspire the angels with a revelation of guidance, and they would call out: 'O sun, by the sacredness of the man whose name is engraved on your radiant face, return to what you were in of motion!' When you heard this, you would move with the power of the Sovereign." Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) said: 'O Messenger of Allah, who is the man whose name is engraved on it?' He replied: 'It is Abu Bakr al-Siddiq, O Aisha.' "Before Allah created the world, He knew with His eternal knowledge that He would create the heavens and the earth and create a sea of water, and upon it, a wheel-like structure for the sun shining upon the world. The sun will rebel against the angels when it reaches the equator, and Allah, the Exalted, has decreed to create, in the last days, a prophet superior to the prophets, and he will be in your grasp, O Aisha, despite the enemies, and He will engrave the name of his minister, namely, Abu Bakr, on the face of the sun, al-Mustafa al-Siddiq. Thus, when the angels swear to the sun by him, it will move and return to its course by the power of the Master." Similarly, when a sinner from my ummah passes by the fire of Hell, and the fire desires to pounce on the believer, it will retreat in fear of the love of Allah in his heart and the engraved name on his tongue, returning to its place, fleeing, while seeking to do so to others.

- The scholar of the Ummah, Sheikh Yusuf al-Fishi al-Maliki, narrated: Whenever Gabriel saw Abu Bakr positioned before the Prophet (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) while he was conversing with him, he would stand in reverence to the Siddiq, unlike anyone else. The Prophet (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) asked him about this, and Gabriel replied: "Abu Bakr has a special place of leadership over me from eternity. This is nothing but that when Allah, the Exalted, commanded the angels to prostrate to Adam, my soul prompted me with what it used to drive away Iblis. So when Allah, the Exalted, said, 'Prostrate' I saw a vast dome with 'Abu Bakr, Abu Bakr' written on it repeatedly, and he was saying, 'Prostrate.' So I prostrated out of the awe of Abu Bakr, and what was meant to happen occurred."

- From Anas ibn Malik who said: We were sitting with the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) when a man from his companions approached him, and his legs were bleeding profusely. The Prophet (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) said: What is this? He replied: O Messenger of Allah, I passed by the dog of so-and-so, the hypocrite, and it bit me. Then the Prophet (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) said: Sit down. So he sat down before the Prophet (peace be upon him and his holy progeny). Later, after about an hour, another man from his companions approached him, and his legs were also bleeding profusely, like the first. The Prophet (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) said: What is this? He replied: O Messenger of Allah, I passed by the dog of so-and-so, the hypocrite, and it bit me. The Prophet (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) then stood up and said to his companions: Come, let us go to this dog and kill it. They all stood up, and each one of them took up a sword. When they came to it and were about to strike it with their swords, the dog fell at the feet of the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) and said, in a fluent and eloquent tongue: Do not kill me, O Messenger of Allah, for I am a believer in Allah and His Messenger. He said: What about you biting these two men? She replied: O Messenger of Allah, I am a dog from the jinn, commanded to bite whoever insults Abu Bakr and Umar (may Allah be pleased with them). The Prophet (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) then said: O you two, did you not hear what the dog is saying? They replied: Yes, O Messenger of Allah, we are both repenting to Allah, the Almighty.

- From Ikrimah from Ibn Abbas who said: Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) said: I was sitting with the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) and there was no third among us except Allah, the Almighty, who said: O Ali, do you want me to introduce you to the master of the elders of Paradise and the greatest of them in status and dignity with Allah on the Day of Resurrection? I said: Yes, truly, O Messenger of Allah. He said: These two who are approaching. Ali then said: I turned and saw Abu Bakr and Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both). Then I saw the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) smile, and then his face became serious until they entered the mosque. Abu Bakr said: O Messenger of Allah, when we drew near to the house of Abi Hanifah, you smiled at us and then furrowed your brow. Why was that, O Messenger of Allah? The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) said: When you both became next to the house of Abi Hanifah, Iblis confronted you and looked into your faces, then he raised his hands to the heavens, making you hear and see, although you were not able to hear or see him, and he was calling out and saying: O Allah, I ask You by the right of these two men not to punish me with the punishment of one who opposes these two men. Abu Bakr said: And who is it that opposes us, O Messenger of Allah, while we are safe in you, supporting you, and affirming what you have brought from the Lord of the worlds? He said: Yes, O Abu Bakr, a people will appear in the end of times called the Rafdah, who will reject the truth and misinterpret the Quran contrary to its correct meaning. Allah, the Exalted, has mentioned them in His Noble Book, saying: "They distort words from their rightful places." Abu Bakr said: O Messenger of Allah, what will be the consequence for those who oppose us before Allah? He said: O Abu Bakr, it is enough that Iblis, may Allah’s curse be upon him, seeks refuge with Allah, the Exalted, that He does not punish him with the punishment of one who opposes you both. He said: O Messenger of Allah, this is the reward for one who has opposed. What is the reward for one who loves? The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) said: That they be guided to offer a gift from their deeds. Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) said: O Messenger of Allah, bear witness before Allah and His angels that I have donated a quarter of my reward - that is, my deeds - since I believed in Allah until we meet Him. Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) said: And I am the same, O Messenger of Allah. The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) said: Then place your signatures on this. Ali, may Allah honor his face, said: So Abu Bakr took a vial, and the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) said to him, Write. So he wrote: In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. Abdullah Atiq ibn Abi Quhafah says: I bear witness before Allah and His Messenger and those present from the Muslims that I have donated a quarter of my deeds to the lovers of Allah in this world since I believed in Allah until I meet Him. And with this, I place my signature. Umar also took and wrote a similar statement. When the pen finished writing, the trustworthy Gabriel (peace be upon him) descended and said: O Messenger of Allah, the Lord sends you greetings and specifically offers you salutations and honor, saying: Bring what your two companions have written. The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) said: This is it. Then Gabriel took it and ascended to the heavens. Later, he returned to the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny), and the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) said to him: Where is what you took from me, Gabriel? He replied: It is with Allah, the Exalted, and Allah has witnessed it, and I, Mikail, and Israfil bear witness among the bearers of the Throne. And Allah, the Exalted, said: It is with Me until Abu Bakr and Umar fulfill what they said on the Day of Resurrection.

- Abu al-Abbas ibn Abd al-Wahid narrated from the righteous shaykh Umar ibn al-Zughbi, who said: I was in i'tikaf in the city of Medina, may Allah be pleased with her, with the Blessed Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him and his holy progeny, overlooking her, in the best of prayers and peace, and I went out on the day of Ashura, when the Imami community gathers in the dome of Abbas. They had gathered in the dome, and he said: I stood at the door of the dome and said, "I want something in love of Abu Bakr." An elderly man from among them came out to me and said, "Sit until we finish, and we will give you." So, I sat until they finished, then that man came out, took me by the hand, and led me to his home. He brought me into the house, closed the door behind me, and turned (ع) two men against me, binding my hands and beating me until I was in pain. Then he commanded them to cut out my tongue, and they did so. Then he ordered them to unbind my shoulders and said, "Go out to what you requested in his love, and let him restore your tongue to you." So, I went out from him to the noble, holy chamber, weeping from the intense pain and suffering. I said to myself, "O Messenger of Allah, you surely know what has befallen me in love of Abu Bakr. If your companion is truly deserving, I would like him to return my tongue to me." I spent the night in the chamber, restless from the severity of the pain. A light sleep overcame me, and I dreamed that my tongue had returned to its original state. I woke up and found it perfectly healthy, as it was, and I was able to speak. I said, "Praise be to Allah who has restored my tongue to me," and my love for Abu Bakr (r) increased. So, when the second year came on the day of Ashura, they gathered as usual, and I went out to the door of the dome and said, "I want a dinar in love of Abu Bakr." A young man from among those present stood up and said to me, "Sit until we finish." So, I sat, and when they finished, the young man came to me, took my hand, and led me to that same house. He brought me inside and placed food before me. When we finished, the young man stood up, opened a door onto a room in the house, and began to cry. I stood up to see what was causing his tears and saw a monkey tied up in the room. I asked him about its situation, and he cried more. I calmed him until he settled down and said to him, "By Allah, tell me about your condition." He replied, "If you swear not to tell anyone in the city, I will tell you." So, I swore to him, and he said, "Know that a man came to us last year and asked for something in love of Abu Bakr (r) in the dome of Abbas on the day of Ashura. My father, who was one of the elder Imami and Shiite, stood up to him and said, 'Sit until we finish.' When they finished, he brought him to this house and turned two servants against him, and they beat him. He ordered them to cut out his tongue, and they did so, and then he sent him away. We did not know any news of him." When night fell and we were asleep, my father let out a tremendous scream. We awoke from the intensity of his scream and found him transformed by Allah into a monkey. We were frightened of him, so we brought him to this room, tied him up, and pretended to the people that he had died. Here we are, mourning him morning and evening." I said to him, "If you see the one your father cut the tongue of, will you recognize him?" He replied, "No, by Allah." I said, "I am he, by Allah! I am the one your father cut the tongue of." I narrated the story to him, and he fell upon me, kissing my head and hands. Then he gave me a robe and a dinar and asked me how Allah had restored my tongue. I told him, and I returned.

- From Abu Bakr al-Siddiq (may Allah be pleased with him): He said, "While we were sitting in the mosque, we saw a blind man enter and greet us. We returned his greetings (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) and seated him in front of the Prophet (peace be upon him and his holy progeny). He said, 'Who will fulfill a need for me in love of the Prophet (peace be upon him and his holy progeny)?' Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) replied, 'What is your need, O Sheikh?' He said, 'I have family, and I have nothing to sustain us with, and I want someone to give us something to live on in love of the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny).' So Abu Bakr al-Siddiq (may Allah be pleased with him) stood up and said, 'Yes, I will give you what will suffice you in love of the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny).' Then he asked, 'Is there another need?' The man replied, 'Yes, I have a daughter, and I want someone to marry her in my lifetime, in love of Muhammad (peace be upon him and his holy progeny).' Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) said, 'I will marry her in your lifetime, in love of the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny). Is there another need?' The man said, 'Yes, I want to place my hand in the gray hair of Abu Bakr al-Siddiq (may Allah be pleased with him), in love of Muhammad (peace be upon him and his holy progeny).' Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) stood up and placed his beard in the blind man's hands, saying, 'Hold my beard in love of Muhammad (peace be upon him and his holy progeny).' The blind man then grasped the beard of Abu Bakr al-Siddiq (may Allah be pleased with him) and said, 'O Lord, I ask You by the dignity of the gray hair of Abu Bakr, that You restore my sight to me.' Allah restored his sight to him immediately. Then Gabriel (peace be upon him) descended to the Prophet (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) and said, 'O Muhammad, peace be upon you. The Giver of Peace sends you greetings and specifically honors you with His salutation and respect, saying: "By My Might and Majesty, if every blind person were to swear to Me by the dignity of the gray hair of Abu Bakr al-Siddiq, I would restore their sight and not leave a single blind person on the face of the earth." All of this is by your blessing, and by the exaltation of your status and significance with your Lord."
