14558 - And from Malik, meaning ibn Anas, who said: Uthman was killed and remained cast aside on the refuse of Banu Fulani for three days, and twelve men came to him, including Jaddi Malik ibn Abi Amir, Huyayb ibn Abd al-Uzza, Hakim ibn Hizam, Abdullah ibn al-Zubayr, and Aisha bint Uthman, with them a lamp in a container, and they carried him to the door while his head was saying on the door: Tap, tap, until they reached al-Baqi' and they disagreed about praying over him, so either Hakim ibn Hizam or Huyayb ibn Abd al-Uzza, Abd al-Rahman was unsure, prayed over him. Then they wanted to bury him, and a man from Banu Mazin stood up and said: If you bury him with the Muslims, I will inform the people tomorrow. So they carried him until they brought him to the garden of Hash Kawkab. When they lowered him into his grave, Aisha bint Uthman cried out, and Ibn al-Zubayr said to her: Be quiet, for by Allah, if you do it again, I will strike you with what is in my hand. When they buried him and leveled the earth over him, Ibn al-Zubayr said to her: Cry if you wish to cry. Malik said: And Uthman used to pass by Hash Kawkab before that and say: "A righteous man is to be buried here." This was narrated by al-Tabarani who said: "The garden (hash) is a grove," and its men are trustworthy.

Then twelve men came to him, among them my grandfather Malik ibn Abi Amir, Huwaytab ibn Abd al-Uzza, Hakim ibn Hizam, Abdullah ibn al-Zubair, and Aisha, daughter of Uthman, carrying a lantern in a container. - Ali ibn Muhammad narrated to us, from a man, from al-Zuhri, who said: Umm Habibah bint Abi Sufyan (r) came and stood at the door of the mosque and said: "You will either allow me to bury this man, or I will uncover the veil of the Messenger of Allah (s.a.w.a.)." So they left her alone. When evening came, Jubayr ibn Mut'im and Hakim ibn Hizam and Abdullah ibn al-Zubayr and Abu al-Jahm ibn Hudhayfah and Abdullah ibn Hasil came and carried him, and they brought him to al-Baqi', but Ibn Buhrat prevented them from burying him, and it is said that Ibn Nahrat al-Sa'idi did as well. So they took him to a place called Hash Kukab, which is a garden in the city, and Jubayr prayed over him and they buried him there before returning.

So I went to him, and he was sitting next to a large vat of wheat. He said, 'Would you like to go to the burial of Uthman (r)?' I replied, 'I have not involved myself in anything regarding him, nor do I want that.' Mention of the report about the place where Uthman (RA) was buried
And who prayed over him and took over his affairs after he was killed until his matters were settled and he was buried
Volume: (4) - Page Number: (412)
- Ja'far ibn Abdullah al-Muhammadi said: Amr ibn Hammad and Ali ibn Husayn both said: Hussein ibn Isa narrated to us from his father, from Abu Maymunah from Abu Bashir al-Abadi, who said: Uthman (RA) was left unburied for three days. Then Hakim ibn Hizam al-Qurashi, one of the Banu Asad ibn Abd al-Uzza, and Jubayr ibn Mut'im ibn Adi ibn Nufal ibn Abd Manaf both asked Ali about burying him and sought his permission to allow his family to do so, and he did, granting them permission. When Ali heard this, they sat in the road with stones, and a few of his family members went out with him, intending to take him to a garden in the city called Hash Kawkab, where the Jews used to bury their dead. When he appeared before the people, they began to stone his bier and were about to throw it down. When this reached Ali, he sent to them, urging them not to do so, and they complied. He then went until he buried him (RA) in Hash Kawkab. When Muawiya ibn Abi Sufyan gained control over the people, he ordered that the garden be demolished until it was leveled to al-Baqi, and he commanded the people to bury their dead around his grave until this connected with the cemeteries of the Muslims.

- .... Muhammad said: Abdullah ibn Yazid al-Hudhali narrated to me, from Abdullah ibn Sa'adah, who said: Uthman remained for two nights after he was killed unable to be buried, as they could not manage to do so. Then he was carried by four: Hakim ibn Hizam, Jubayr ibn Mut'im, Niyar ibn Mukarram, and Abu Juhm ibn Hudhayfah. When they set him down to pray over him, a group from the Ansar came to prevent them from praying over him, including Aslam ibn Aws ibn Bujrah al-Sa'idi and Abu Hayyah al-Mazni, along with others. They also prevented them from burying him in Baqi'. Abu Juhm said, "Bury him; he has been prayed over by him and his angels." They replied, "No, by Allah, he will never be buried in the cemeteries of the Muslims." So they buried him in a space called Hush Kaukab. When the Banu Umayyah became powerful, they included that space in Baqi', and it is now the cemetery of the Banu Umayyah.

Then, when night fell, twelve men came to him, including Huwaytib ibn Abd al-Uzza, Hakim ibn Hijzam, and Abdullah ibn al-Zubayr. So they carried him away, and he was at a gate with his head at the gate, as if to say: 'Tap, tap,' until they walked with him to a barren area (Hash Kawkab) and dug a grave for him. And Aisha, the daughter of Uthman, was with a lantern, and when they took him out to bury him, she screamed. Ibn al-Zubayr said to her, "By God, if you do not be silent, I will strike you on your eyes." So she quieted down, and he was buried. - .... It narrates the burial of Uthman ibn Affan (may he be pleased with him), and it was said that Abdur Rahman ibn Azhar mentioned: "I had not involved myself in any matter concerning Uthman, neither for him nor against him. I was sitting in the courtyard of my house one night, a night after Uthman was killed, when al-Mundhir ibn al-Zubayr came to me and said: 'My nephew is calling you.' So I went to him, and he said: 'We intend to bury Uthman. Do you wish to join us?' I replied: 'By Allah, I have not engaged in anything concerning him, nor do I wish to do so,' and I turned away from him. Then I followed him, and I found him among a group that included Jubayr ibn Mut'im, Abu al-Jahm ibn Hudhayfah, al-Miswar ibn Makhramah, Abdur Rahman ibn Abi Bakr, and Abdullah ibn al-Zubayr. They were carrying him to the door, and his head was saying: "Tap, tap." They placed him in the burial area. Then some men from the Ansar stood up to them and said: 'By no means, you shall not pray over him.' Abu al-Jahm replied: 'Will you not let us pray over him?' For Allah, the Exalted, and His angels have prayed over him." One of the men said to him: "If you are, may Allah admit you in his place." He replied: "May Allah resurrect me with him." The man said: "Indeed, Allah will resurrect you with the devils. By Allah, if we leave you with him, it would be a failure on our part." The people said to Abu al-Jahm: "Stay silent about him and refrain." So he became silent. They carried him and then went away swiftly, as if I could hear the sound of his head hitting the board, until they placed him in the lowest part of al-Baqi'. Then Jubaylah ibn Umar al-Sa'idi from the Ansar came to them and said: 'By no means, you shall not bury him in the grave of the Messenger of Allah, nor will we allow you to pray over him.' Abu al-Jahm said: "Let us go, even if we do not pray over him, for he has been prayed over." And they left, with Aisha, the daughter of Uthman, accompanying them, holding a lamp in a small container. When they brought him to a spot resembling a cluster of stars, they dug a hole for him. Then they stood to pray over him, with Jubayr ibn Mut'im leading them, and afterward, they lowered him into his grave. When his daughter saw him, she cried out, and Ibn al-Zubayr said: 'By Allah, if you do not silence yourself, I will strike you in the eye.' They buried him without raising a mound over him, covering him with dust, layer upon layer.
