- He narrated to us from Ismail ibn Abi Khalid, from Qais, who said: Talhah was struck on the day of the Camel by an arrow in his knee, and whenever they held it, it would swell, and when they released it, it would throb. He said: "Leave it, for it is an arrow sent by Allah,
and the people fled, and a great slaughter occurred among them."- Khamis ibn al-Minhhal narrated to me, saying: Sa'id narrated to us,
from Qatadah, who said: "Twenty thousand were killed on the day of the Camel."- Wahb ibn Jurayr narrated to us, saying: My father narrated to me,
from Muhammad ibn Ya'qub al-Dhabbi, who said: "Two thousand and five hundred were killed from the people of Basra, along with eight hundred from the Banu Dhabba."- Wahb said: Al-Mu'alla Abu Hatim narrated to me, saying:
My grandmother told me: "We went out to the slain of the Camel and counted them with reeds, totaling twenty thousand."- Abu al-Yaqthan, from al-Rukin ibn al-Qasim,
from Ali ibn Zayd, said: "Seven thousand were killed on the day of the Camel."- Hatim ibn Muslim narrated to us,
from Abd al-Rahman ibn Khalid ibn al-Asi, from his father, who said: "Thirteen thousand of Ali's companions were killed, between four hundred and five hundred." Abu al-Hasan, from Muhammad ibn Salih al-Thaqafi, from Ibn Jurayj, from Ibn Abi Mulaykah, said: Five hundred were struck down from Ali's companions.
