911 - Abdullah narrated to us, saying: My father narrated to us, saying: Abdul-Rahman ibn Mahdi narrated to us, from Sufyan, from al-Amash from Abu Dhuhah, who said: He heard from someone who heard Aisha reciting: {And abide in your houses and do not display yourselves as [was] the display of the former times of ignorance} (Surah al-Ahzab 33:33) and she wept until her hijab was soaked.

- .... Al-Thalabi and others mentioned that Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) would weep until her headscarf was soaked whenever she recited this verse. It is also mentioned that when Sawdah was asked, "Why do you not perform Hajj or Umrah as your sisters do?" she replied, "I have performed Hajj and Umrah, and Allah has commanded me to remain in my house." The narrator said: "By Allah, she did not leave the door of her chamber until her funeral was carried out, may Allah be pleased with her."
- .... Ibn Atiyyah said: Aisha's (may Allah be pleased with her) weeping was due to her journey during the days of the Camels, and at that time, Ammar said to her, "Indeed, Allah has commanded you to remain in your house."

- .... And (R) would weep when she recited the verse: {And stay in your homes and do not display yourselves as they did in the earlier times of ignorance} (Surah Al-Ahzab 33:33) until her tears soaked her veil.
- .... And it was narrated from Aisha (R) that she said: "If Ibn Umar (R) passed by, show him to me." And when he passed by her, it was said to her, "This is Ibn Umar." She said: "O Abu Abd al-Rahman, what prevented you from telling me not to go on my journey?" He replied, "I saw a man who had power over you," meaning Ibn Zubair. All these reports indicate Aisha's (R) complete regret, and she considered her journey an event in her life. Initially, she intended to be buried in her home but then changed her mind, saying: "I have done something new," so she instructed to be buried in Al-Baqi' (R).
