Book of Trials and Tumults - The Prophet's (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) statement that "the corruption of my Ummah will be at the hands of childish tyrants from Quraysh"
Volume: (4) - Page Number: (471)
8501 - Abd al-Rahman ibn Hamdan al-Jallab informed me in Hamdan, saying: Hilal ibn al-Alah al-Ruqai narrated to us, saying: Abdullah ibn Ja'far narrated to us, saying: Ubaydullah ibn Amr narrated to us, from Zayd ibn Abi Unaysa, from Amr ibn Murrah, from Khaythamah ibn Abd Rahman, who said: We were with Hudhayfah (peace be upon him) when some of us said: "Inform us, O Abu Abd Allah, what you heard from the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny)." He said: "If I did, you would stone me." We said: "Glory be to Allah, would we do that?" He replied: "What would you think if I told you that some of your mothers would come to you in a battalion, large in number and formidable in might? Would you believe it?" We said: "Glory be to Allah, who would believe this?" Then Hudhayfah said: "The Humayra (the red one) will come to you in a battalion, her half-breeds driving her, where your faces will be displeased." Then he stood up and entered a private chamber. This is a sound Hadith on the criteria of the two Shaykhs, and they did not narrate it.

12032 - And Zayd ibn Wahb said: While we were around Hudhayfah, he said: "How will you be when the family of your Prophet (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) emerge as two factions, striking each other's faces with swords?" We said: "O Abu Abdullah, will that really happen?" He replied, some of his companions said: "O Abu Abdullah, how should we act if we witness that time?" He said: "Look for the faction that calls to the matter of Ali, and stick with it, for it is on guidance." Al-Bazzar narrated it, and its men are trustworthy.

We said: "O Abu Abdillah, will that really happen?" He replied: "Yes, by the One who sent Muhammad (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) with the truth, it will certainly happen." Then some of his companions said: "O Abu Abdillah, what should we do if we reach that time?" He said: "Look for the group that calls to the matter of Ali (peace be upon him), and stick to them, for they are on guidance."

- .... He said: And when Talhah, al-Zubayr, and Aishah settled at Awtās in the land of Khaybar, Sa'id ibn al-Asiy approached them on a sturdy mount, overlooking the people with al-Mughira ibn Shu'bah beside him. He dismounted, leaning on his black bow, and went to Aishah and said to her: "Where are you going, O Mother of the Believers?" She replied: "I want to go to Basra." He asked: "What will you do in Basra?" She answered: "I seek revenge for the blood of Uthman." He said: "But those who killed Uthman are with you." Then he turned to Marwan and said to him: "And you, where are you also going?" He replied: "To Basra." Sa'id said: "What will you do there?" Marwan answered: "I seek the murderers of Uthman." Sa'id said: "But those who killed Uthman are with you. These two men, Talhah and al-Zubayr, killed Uthman," and they intend to take control for themselves. When they are overcome, they will say: "We will wash away the blood with blood."
- .... Then al-Mughira ibn Shu'bah said: "O people, if you have merely come out with your Mother, it is better for you to return with her. And if you are angry for Uthman, your leaders killed Uthman. And if you have grievances against Ali, state what you are dissatisfied with."
