6804 - Abu Ishaq Ibrahim ibn Muhammad ibn Yahya and Muhammad ibn Muhammad ibn Ya'qub al-Hafiz narrated to us, both said: Muhammad ibn Ishaq al-Thaqafi narrated to us, saying: Qutaybah ibn Sa'id narrated to us, from Jarir, from al-A'mash, from Abu Wa'il, from Masruq, who said: Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) said to me: "I saw myself on a hill with cows around me being sacrificed." I said to her: "If your vision is true, there will surely be a battle around you." She replied: "I seek refuge with Allah from your evil. What a terrible thing you have said!" I said to her: "Then perhaps it was a matter of significance that would upset you." She said: "By Allah, the last thing from the heavens would be dearer to me than to do that." Then, after a while, it was mentioned to her that Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) had killed Dhul-Thadyah. She said to me: "When you go to Kufa, write down for me the names of some people who witnessed that and whom you know from the people of the town." When I arrived, I found the people divided into factions, so I wrote down for her ten from each faction who witnessed that. He said: I brought her their testimonies
and she said: "May Allah curse Amr ibn al-As, for he claimed to me that he killed him in Egypt." This is a sound hadith according to the criteria of the two Shaykhs, and they did not include it in their collections.
