5646 - Muhammad ibn Dhafar al-Hafiz narrated to me, and I asked him, who said: Al-Husayn ibn Ayash al-Qattan narrated to me, from Al-Husayn, from Yahya ibn Ayash al-Qattan, from Al-Husayn ibn Yahya al-Marrozi, from Ghalib ibn Hulayis al-Kalbi, Abu al-Haytham, from Juwayriyah ibn Asma' , from Yahya ibn Sa'id, who said: My uncle said that when the day of the Camel occurred, Ali called out to the people: "Do not throw a single arrow, do not stab with a spear, do not strike with a sword, and do not pursue the people, for this is a position in which one who succeeds will thrive on the Day of Resurrection." He said that we all agreed, then the people said in unison: "O avengers of Uthman!" He said that Ibn al-Hanafiyyah was our leader on a hilltop with the banner. Ali called out to him, and he turned to us, covering his face, and said: "O Commander of the Faithful, they say: 'O avengers of Uthman.'" Then Ali stretched out his hands and said: "O Allah, today cast the killers of Uthman down on their faces!" Then Al-Zubayr said to the assailants who were with him: "Throw them a volley," and it seemed he wanted to initiate fighting. But when his companions saw him preparing to fight, they did not wait and charged, and Allah defeated them. Marwan ibn al-Hakam threw an arrow at Talha ibn Ubayd Allah, striking his leg and embedding it in the side of his horse. The horse reared, and he was thrown off, and he killed him. Marwan then looked at Aban ibn Uthman, who was with him, and said: "I have spared you one of your father's killers."

839 - Muhammad ibn Ali narrated to me, who said: Mahna narrated to us, who said: I asked Ahmad about Talhah ibn Ubayd Allah and who killed him. He said: They say Marwan. I asked: How? He replied: Isma'il ibn Abi Khalid narrated from Qays ibn Abi Hazim, who said: Marwan looked at Talhah ibn Ubayd Allah on the day of the Camel and said: "I will not seek vengeance for my injury after today." Then he shot an arrow and killed him. I asked: Who says this? He replied: Waki' from Isma'il ibn Abi Khalid. I said: They told me about Amr ibn Marzuq, from 'Imran al-Qattan, from Qatadah, from al-Jarud ibn Abi Sabrah, who said: Marwan looked at Talhah ibn Ubayd Allah on the day of the Camel and said: "I will not seek vengeance for my injury after today," then he threw an arrow and killed him. He said: "I do not know."

12096 - Abu Usamah narrated to us, from Isma'il, from Qais, who said: "Marwan struck Talhah with an arrow in his knee on the day of the Camel, and he died." So we buried him on the shore of al-Kalaa, and some of his family members saw that he said, "Would you not relieve me from this water, for I have drowned three times," repeatedly saying this. So they exhumed him and bought a house for him from the estate of the Al-Umara family for ten thousand, and buried him in it.

37770 - Abu Usamah narrated to us, who said: Isma'il ibn Abi Khalid narrated to us, who said: Qays informed us, saying: On the day of the Jamal, Marwan ibn al-Hakam struck Talha with an arrow in his knee. He said that blood began to gush and flow. He said that when they tried to stop it, it would cease, and when they left it, it would flow. Talha then said, "Let it be," and he continued that whenever they pressed the mouth of the wound, his knee would swell. Talha said, "Let it be, for it is only an arrow that Allah has sent." He said that he died. They buried him by the shores of al-Kala. Some of his family saw him and reported that he said, "Will you not relieve me from the water, for I have drowned three times?" He kept saying this. He said they exhumed him, and if he was not green like leafy vegetables, then they drained the water from him. However, what was beneath him on his beard and face had been eaten away by the earth. They bought a house for him from the homes of the family of Abi Bakrah for ten thousand and buried him in it.

Discussion on the First Class, namely the Badriyyin among the Emigrants and the Helpers
Classes of the Badriyyin among the Emigrants - and from Banu Taym ibn Murrah ibn Kabir - 47: Talhah ibn Ubayd Allah

- He said: Abu Usamah narrated to us from Isma'il ibn Abi Khalid, who said: Qays ibn Abi Hazim narrated to me, saying: Marwan ibn al-Hakam struck Talhah on the day of the Battle of the Camel in his knee, and blood began to gush and flow. Whenever they tried to stop it, it would cease, and whenever they left it alone, it would flow. He then said, "By Allah, their arrows have not yet reached us." Then he said, "Leave him, for it is only an arrow sent by Allah." He died and they buried him by the banks of al-Kala." Some of his family members saw him saying, "Will you not relieve me from this water, for I have sunk three times?" He said it repeatedly, so they exhumed him from his grave, green and resembling a beet, and water oozed from him. Then, they found that what was touching the ground from his beard and face had been consumed by the earth, so they bought a house from the houses of Abu Bakrah and buried him in it.
