- And the narration of Abu Saleh is preserved, and he also narrated from Abu Sa'id, who informed us: Abu al-Qasim Zahir ibn Tahir said: It was read to Abu Othman al-Bahiri, who said: My grandfather Abu al-Husayn Ahmad ibn Muhammad ibn Ja'far narrated to me: Abu Muhammad Ahmad ibn Ibrahim ibn Abdullah, the grandson of Nasr ibn Ziyad, dictated to us: Nasr ibn Ziyad narrated to me: Jarir, from al-A'mash, from Abu Saleh
from Abu Sa'id al-Khudri, who said: There was something between Abdul Rahman ibn Awf and Khalid ibn al-Walid, and Khalid insulted him. Then the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) said: "Do not insult any of my companions, for if one of you were to spend like Mount Uhud in gold, he would not reach the measure or half a measure of one of them."
