1933 -
Narrated from Anas: that the Prophet (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) looked over the city of Medina and said: O Allah, I sanctify what is between its two mountains just as Ibrahim (Abraham) sanctified Mecca. O Allah, bless them in their cubits and their sa's. This is agreed upon, and Al-Bukhari has from him:
that the Prophet (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) said: Medina is a sanctuary from such-and-such to such-and-such; its trees should not be cut, nor should any new thing be introduced in it. Whoever introduces a new thing in it will have the curse of Allah, the angels, and all the people upon him. And Muslim has
from Asim al-Ahwal, who said: I asked Anas, Did the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) sanctify Medina? He replied: Yes, it is sacred, and its flora should not be disturbed. Whoever does so will have the curse of Allah, the angels, and all the people upon him.1934 -
And from Abu Sa'id: that the Prophet (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) said: I have made Medina a sanctuary, a sacred area between its two narrow passes, where no blood shall be shed, no weapons carried, and no trees will be struck except for fodder.1935 -
And from Jabir, who said: the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) said: Ibrahim (Abraham) sanctified Mecca, and I have sanctified Medina, what is between its two ridges; no foliage shall be cut, nor its game hunted. Both were narrated by Muslim.
1936 -
And from Jabir: that the Prophet (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) said in Medina: it is sacred what is between its two volcanic regions and its entire protection; its trees may not be cut except for fodder. Ahmad narrated this, and the second hadith of Ali has narrators that are reliable, and its essence is found in the two Sahihs.
