9236 - And from Abu Ubaydah ibn al-Jarrah who said: the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) said: "This affair of my Ummah will continue to stand with justice until the first to undermine it is a man from Banu Umayyah, called Yazid." Narrated by Abu Ya'la and al-Bazzar, and the men of Abu Ya'la are reliable transmitters except that Makhul did not meet Abu Ubaydah.

2841 - "The first to alter my Sunnahs" meaning my upright way and conduct that I am on, with that which I have established for you of the doctrinal and practical rulings, "(will be a man from Banu Umayyah)" with the hamza pronounced as a vowel. Al-Ruyani added in his Musnad and Ibn Asakir "named Yazid." Al-Bayhaqi said in his commentary on the hadith: "He is Yazid ibn Muawiyah," due to the reports of Abu Ya'la, al-Bayhaqi, Abu Nu'aym, and Ibn Mun'iyah: "The affairs of my Ummah will continue to stand with justice until the first to undermine them is a man from Banu Umayyah named Yazid."....

Muhammad ibn Bashar Bundar narrated to us: Abd al-Wahhab narrated to us: Auf al-A'arabi narrated to us: Muhajir Abu Mukhlid narrated to me: Abu al-A'laa narrated to me that Abu Muslim said: Abu Darda said: I heard the Prophet (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) say: "The first to alter my Sunnah will be a man from Banu Umayyah, named Yazid." Al-Ruwiyani also mentioned this in his Musnad from Bundar, and it was narrated from another source by Auf, although that account does not include Abu Muslim.

Awf al-A'rabi narrated from Muhajir Abi Makhlad, who said: Abu al-Aliyah told me that Yazid ibn Abi Sufyan gathered the people for a campaign, and a valuable maiden fell into the share of a man, and Yazid seized her. Then Abu Dharr came to him and said: "Return the maiden to the man." Yazid hesitated and said: "If I do that, I have heard the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) say: 'The first to alter my sunnah will be a man from Banu Umayyah named Yazid.'" Abu Dharr asked: "I invoke you by Allah, am I to understand that you are one of them?" Yazid replied: "No, return the maiden to the man." Al-Ruwiyani included this in his Musnad. Ibrahim ibn Sa'd said: Yazid ibn Abi Sufyan was in command of a quarter, and Abu Ubaydah was in command of a quarter, and Amr ibn al-As was in command of a quarter, and Sharhabil ibn Hassunah was in command of a quarter, meaning on the day of Yarmouk, and there was no commander over them that day.
