Hadith No: 1

Abu Ja'far Muhammad bin 'Ali reported from Samarah ibn Jundub that he had a row of palm-trees in the garden of a man of the Ansar. The man had his family with him. Samarah used to visit his palm-trees, and the man was annoyed by that and felt it keenly. So he asked him (Samarah) to sell them to him, but he refused. He then asked him to take something else in exchange, but he refused.

So he came to the Holy Prophet (S) and mentioned it to him. The Holy Prophet (S) asked him to sell it to him, but he refused. He asked him to take something else in exchange, but he refused.

He then said:

Give it to him and you can have such and such, mentioning something with which he tried to please him, but he refused. He then said: You are a nuisance. The Messenger of Allah (S) then said to the Ansari: Go and uproot his palm-trees.

- .... And in a narration reported by Ja'far al-Sadiq (may Allah be pleased with him) from his father, from Samurah ibn Jundub (may Allah be pleased with him): He had a cluster of date palms in the garden of a man from the Ansar. He said that the man was with his family and Samurah would enter his date palms, causing the man annoyance and difficulty. The man asked him to exchange them, but he refused. So he went to the Prophet (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) and mentioned this to him. The Prophet (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) asked him to sell them, but he refused. The man then requested an exchange again, and he still refused. The Prophet (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) said, "You are being harmful," and the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) said to the Ansari: "Go and uproot his date palms." And there is some uncertainty in the hearing of Muhammad al-Baqir (Abu Ja'far) from Samurah, and Allah, the Most Exalted, knows best.

- .... And they also mentioned what we narrated through the chain of Abu Dawud, who said: Suleiman ibn Dawud al-Athaki narrated to us, from Hammad, from Wasil, the freedman of Abu Uyayna, who said: I heard Muhammad ibn Ali narrating from Samura ibn Jundub that he had a cluster of date palms in the garden of a man from the Ansar. He said that the man was with his family, and Samura would enter his palms and be troubled by him. The man asked him to sell it or to exchange it, but he refused. He mentioned this to the Prophet (peace be upon him and his holy progeny), and the Prophet (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) asked him to sell it, but he refused. He then asked him to exchange it, and he refused. The Prophet (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) said, "Then give it to him as a gift, and you will have such and such in return as an incentive," but he refused. The Prophet (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) said, "You are causing harm." Then the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) said to the Ansari, "Go and uproot his palms.”....
